Are you feeding a guitar chain (presumably with some sort of amp modeler) into one of the inputs of the Octatrack? Or just using Octatrack for MIDI master?

Hi this is inspiring...finding my rc505 limiting especially if you want to incorporate and mess with drum samples...I have a few questions... 1) Is there a limit to how many tracks or sample time? 2) can you mute tracks like the rc505 and are they are all tempo synced? 3)does the looper warp audio to better fit or quantise 4) can u switch from one drum loop to another creating a song?

1: yes, unfortunately. 8 tracks, if I recollect correctly 32 seconds of looping time, but there might be some workarounds 2: yep and yep 3: yes and no, it depends on your settings and the machine used, but it's possible 4: yep, there are many ways to do so, and that's the funny part

Are you using a footswitch to control recording? And if so, are you able to use the footswitch to select which track you want to record into? I'm looking for a way to do as much hands-free looping with the OT and use multiple tracks. Basically, I want it to behave similar to an Infinity Looper, only with more tracks possible, and a bit more interesting programming for how the loops get played back.

What is happening here that a cheap pedal setup can't do? The more I look into the Octatrack the more it's clear it's mostly useful for live techno.

well, you could use a standard one button looper to loop the guitar, but the octatrack, can use a midi pedal to record, loop, dub etc yoru guitar, cna create the drums on the fly with samples, or use sampled loops, octatrack can have pre determined loop lengths set to sync with the track bpm, so you select that you want 4-8-16-32 bar loop lenght, hit record, it does its thing, you dont need to click to close the loop, octa has multiple effects and resampling capability
