As someone who rarely plays anything without a floyd rose, I enjoyed this a lot. Not only was it ASMR, but it also was i formative on fixed bridges. I’m also new to maintenance. I can easily intonate, change strings, and fix the action. But fretboard cleaning and conditioning, neck relief fixing, etc. I’m bad with that stuff.

Yup, it's all about the preferences! SRV played in Eb with 13-56 string, and I think Billu Gibbons playes something like 8-42 😁 I play mostly rhythm, so that's why I don't need lighter strings on the top, and I enjoy playing with a wound G.

Nice! I'm a passionate guitarist myself since 22 years and an ASMR fan AND a viewer of luthier videos since years. So this is a perfect match! :D You did a very nice and accurate job (I'm still 10 mins away from the end though). Two minor things: I'd have cleant the nut slots with the toothbrush, since they are quite dirty (and probably sticky). And you should loosen the string tension when tightening the trussrod. Otherwise, everything on point! :) I pretty much exactly do this like you. Except the fret polishing. Since I have stainless steel frets, they are smooth and shiny forever. So there's no need for this. On to the video... :)

Well, okay... actually, it should be possible to bring the strings down to 1.5 mm at the 12th fret without major buzzing. Seems like it needs a fret levelling. But that would have gone way too far for this video. ;)

@@7thString84 Excellent and correct points! When adjusting the truss rod you should loosen the strings! and the "dirt" in the nut slot is actually graphite, so it's more slippery than without :) And the action, well that's pretty much a personal preference and I'm a heavy hitter so I keep them a tad bit higher :)

Great video but I would never use the micro fiber rag to protect the guitar. If you get steel wool in it then wipe your guitar with it u will scratch the hell out of it. And you can also shop there rosewood with steel wool won't do anything but make it shine more😉😉

It's a different tuning. EADGBE is the standard tuning, this is a drop-C tuning 😊
