little bear , squirrel!! , I see , the dog just luvs Lemmo , as do we all , some tasty licks in the first two positions , then letting er rip in the bridge , classic. Beautiful guitar , I also luv the color Jen , and the wrap around bigsby bridge is just spacy man. The maple cap neck is sweet , I think they are warmer and slicker than rosewood or even ebony , very nice , they built them better in the 50's and 60's , luv it , thanks guys.

Yes! You can do a lot with a Tele pickup and the tone& volume knob..my first guitar was a Tele,I still have it,bought it new in 98' ...i played a Tele for 15years straight before i got a different guitar,lol!

Also, because it was a factory Bigsby, there's no string-through. Fender didn't drill the holes.

I'm going to sound a bit pedantic here, but it's worth stating in clear language why the maple-cap neck is different from the earlier maple neck; they had the skunk stripe cuz there was no seperate fingerboard, but in the 60s when the rosewood fingerboard came in, ordering a maple neck meant that Fender glued on a maple fingerboard, so no need to carve a slot in the back to put the truss rod in, so no skunk stripe. Maybe i'm overdoing this, but it's worth being really clear about these guitar-nerd details.

Lemmo, you've been doing this too long to still misunderstand vintage Tele wiring. There is no "both pickups together". The middle position is the neck pickup without the dark circuit on it. Having said that, your playing is amazing as always!

Also (again), on a tele with a dark circuit, the middle position is not both pickups, it's the neck pickup without the dark-circuit, i.e. the "normal" neck position.

The middle position is just the neck pickup. To get both pickups you have to catch the switch between the two pickups.

For years even the stratocasters had 3 positions. One pickup at a time. I don't think they have any production guitars that has the dark circuit. Maybe some of the custom shop guitars. A lot of people think the middle position is both pickups on the old guitars. But it's just the neck. They have four position switches. The extra position is for out of phase. The dark circuit doesn't have much use. It's the same effect as rolling off your tone knob.
