I purchased a “Tommy 808” this year at artisan guitars. I upgraded mine by taking it to Joe Glaser and his team (Charlie) took the lead and outfitted it with stainless steel frets and a tier 1 plek job and set up. I prefer it over my martins especially for recording. Highly recommend this instrument and Tommy Emmanuel both as a one of the greatest players ever and a better man as well. 🇦🇺🫡 🇺🇸

I own two Maton's because of TE, the CGP. I have an Australian and a 75th. I travelled to Oz pre-jab and picked up the Australian when the shops I visited had no TE models. I bought the 75th last year outside of Sydney when again no one had any TE models in stock. Maton builds excellent instruments. Mine feel like they were built just for me. I've played a plethora of high end and vintage acoustics and own Martin and Taylors. I've only sampled a few different Matons from the two I own, but with each one I've played, I didn't want to put it down. To me, Maton has the most custom, broken in feel of the higher end production acoustics. They chug, chime, ring and sustain as beautifully as you want. As far as Maton's preamps are concerned, a fair comparison cannot be made for how much further they go sonically versus EVERYTHING else. Its almost as if they shrank a 1073 preamp and made it fit. Everywhere I've plugged in my Maton's, I've gotten high praise for how good my guitar sounds. Its a real confidence booster having superior sonics for the gig. Maton is the James Tyler of acoustics - Either you know, or you don't.

It is 100% Tommy's fault I am the proud owner of an EBW808c. I played a Maton out of curiosity, thinking "Is it really that great?" Immediately, I was hooked. I purchased mine from Artisan Guitars and was blown away by how nice those people are. (It was a great excuse to take the family to Nashville as well.) They treated me like I was Tommy and spent time asking me how I play and what I like. Then, they set the guitar up to my liking. Music and guitars are a passion of mine, not a career, but, I felt, on that day... I working pro that earned the respect they gave me. It was also a thrill to get my picture taken with my new guitar right where Tommy is sitting in this video!

I bought my first of 11 Maton guitars in 1991 when i was 18. Since then I"ve bought every 808 thats come out. I've sold some but the ones i've had Tommy sign will never leave me. FWiW my favorite Maton is the EBW808 which is the blackwood body, ebony board and bridge. Love my black guitar.
