yyyeeee, me and an old mate fell through the neck of my first guitar, quite a sharp break, right through the fingerboard, meant i had something to pratice repair on though, but it is now only good for slide, cos of the flat action, and even worse intonation than before

I think Gibson should have a straight headstock, one piece. Also I think they should replace their bodies with strat bodies and bolt on necks. And put floyd roses on all their guitars. And have 12 to 16 compound radii. Then sue Charvel for not being authentic.

I saw a LP with single coils installed the other day in the Gibson Facebook group. You should've seen them flip their lids over that guitar. Saying it was ruined and was now garbage, firewood, etc...when literally all they had to do was unscrew the adapter plates from the humbucker ring screw holes, put the humbuckers back in, and install the rings & screws back into their original, unmodified holes. It was absolutely hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 They were all so hot that literally none of them understood that the guitar wasnt permanently modified and could easily be returned to stock.

I understand that people want the original gibson, but if there's a problem concerning the strength of the headstock (and tuning issues), why don't considering a solution? Changing the angle is not a big deal. Epiphone has a different angle, am I wrong?

In an interesting interview, Ted revealed that he doesn't have the time to read comments. That's understandable, but I try to comment anyway, just to feed the algorithm. I'm also subscribed, and I give a thumbs up to every video. Ted certainly deserves some money for his efforts to bring us this channel, which is soothing, inspirational, and educational.

Ted is absolutely right in regards to the comment thing. I responded to another person's video where he implied he was looking for input. I learned a huge lesson that day. I offered up some info, based on a video I had just coincidentally watched on the very topic. The information I provided was actually pretty good, and very relevant. The guy responded to me in a negative fashion, which then sparked this negative back, and forth banter. I mentioned to someone about what was going on, and they informed me the guy was just doing it to increase comments/exposure on the video, which would in turn increase the exposure to advertisers and his channel appearing in more searches. I stopped of course, and went back in and deleted all of my comments. It was probably too late, but I learned a valuable lesson that day. Comments are comments when it comes to KZbin. Positive comments or negative comments, it doesn't matter. They both help to increase traffic on someone's channel.

I enjoyed this. I've played a couple of Harley Bentons, and I've been really impressed with the build quality. Some of the finishing has been a bit naff, but they've generally been excellent for the ridiculously low price of them. I played a fretless acoustic bass only the other day, and it was wonderful. Cost just over £100 sterling.

Thank you for the comment on why keeping saddles leveled is important. I’ve had that problem for a while and always figured it was just because it was a hollow body making a harmonic, but it was because of the loose saddles, thank you!

There are actually Gibson Style (3 + 3 Tuners) headstocks that don't suck and Break from looking at them wrong: PRS! But yeah, I never really understood why people would want a les Paul anyways. Terrible sound, No sustain without 30 compressor Pedals, too heavy, breakable headstock, and a Lot of more valid reasons Not to buy one.

I installed a piezo contact pickup under the bridge of my Martin. I was very disappointed with the initial ‘boink’ of the notes. Not wanting to give up on the installation, I installed the piezo with a piece of industrial two sided tape from my local hardware store. The rude initial attack sound was replaced with a normal acoustic sound. Players who are impressed with the sound ask me the brand of pickup I’m using because of the lack of ugly attack note. I always reply, “Radio Shack piezo buzzer. $2.98”. That’s what I have in the guitar and it’s the best sounding pickup. Full, rich and clear. No ugly attack. Go figure. By the way, I’ve been playing since I was 10, and I’m 68 now, so I think I know what guitars should sound like. . . . Hope we don’t get fooled again. God bless.

Loving the Heck outta this, Because I have had many electrics. But my first brand new was a HB SInglecut Copy. (Unfortunately my son decided he wanted to play guitar - so now it’s his y’know) Anyway I bought the non trem version of this same model in an SG-Reminiscent Wine Red and penciled up the nut and Loved it. Eventually I swapped the Nut for a Graphite version and the naughty chrome knobs went over to black speed knobs. Well so then pickup rings went black to match these. Lastly I reversed mine magnetic polarity of the front to get a cranked out-of-phase sound and also flipped it like Peter Green or Albert Collins and it is my Primary Guitar even above several “nicer” guitars ~Anyway to wrap this up the reason why this is such a touching video is that it matters a lot to see a non-marketing overview of low end guitar that can easily punch well above it’s price point. It reminds me of my old Hondo and Harmony LP copies. NONE of these copies would be mistaken for their up market equivalent- - HOWEVER I would not mod an LP or a PRS so I definitely have that going for me! ❤ the channel it is DEFINITELY one of my favorites Thanks for all that you KEEP doing!

I probably routed the top, glued the bridge on that L'Arrivee, made the nut and fit the saddle, and corrected the finish (buffing wheel 4 lyf) Great tutorial for installing K&Ks.

Love watching your videos. Been a fan of K&K pickups for years! The proper placement is crucial! I purchased a Gibson F5 mando and had the dealer (very reputable) install a Twin Spot for me. Right off the bat, pick noise boomed and it picked up every single bump of the top. I looked inside and it seemed whoever put it in just stuck it right in the middle of the mandolin near the widest point of the f-holes. I ended up just cutting the wires and abandoning them in place. I installed a new one myself in the correct placement, problem solved. They also have a tendency to not like certain pre-amps, something to do with the ohms. K&K's pre-amps work well and I have them but I now use a Grace Alix and I'm very happy with the sound. It's still a pickup though.....a necessary evil.
