Haruna performed a nearly two-minute drum solo during a live broadcast streamed online two days ago. I don't think she has ever performed a full-fledged drum solo at a LOVEBITES live performance. It was a real surprise.

Thanks for sharing that. Lovebites are always good for some surprise. 😁 As on their albums, so in their live shows. 😊

How does Haruna play at the speed that she does and also find the time to twirl her drum stick. She's just showing off. 🤩

Miyako is using an Infinite st "strat" a Japanese high end copy of a Fender. I believe she has Bare Knuckle pickups installed as well.

Thank you so much for commenting on this! 😊🐺 1:11 2:50 As you said, "Iron Maiden" signature style intro: dual lead guitar harmony, galloping bass rhythm. Shout out to "Eddie and the boys". They definitely _are_ a part of Metal history, and they, too, wrote an impressive number of Metal masterpieces. 3:23 and following: "Little big" and extremely versatile power lady Haruna-san at work. 😄 🤘👏 6:43 and following: What an *iconic* Madori-san song finish! 😳🤘🎸

This song actually is from miyako's first band the song is titled Just a liar. Maybe thats why its not that metal cause miyako's first band is more on rock/metalcore category.

I've always wanted to hear single coils vs humbuckers with Lovebites, because I thought the contrast would work really well for their sound. Only I thought Midori would play the singles. I can hear the Gary Moore influence with a hint of Thin Lizzy. Great reaction !

For me the highlights of this band are Haruna and Asami. Asami can easily be one of the 3 greatest vocalists in metal, alongside Tarja Turunen and Floor Jansen. But, particularly, I didn't find the guitars' performance as good as it was on the DVDs from 2019 to 2021. I watched this year's DVD and the Tokio live, at least for me (I'm not a guitarist, i'm a classical music singer), there were many and frequent execution errors in all the songs, not only in solos but also in simple chords. Miyako's guitar seems to have a higher volume than Midori's, and both seem to have a "dirtier" distortion. Don't get me wrong, Lovebites is my favorite Japanese band but, I'm particularly surprised and displeased by the guitars. I understand that there is a situation where it is live and sometimes the sound does not under treatment, but I did not notice these flaws in previous years. Anyone who is a guitarist, please correct me (sorry for any mistakes in English, I'm Brazilian).

I can't comment on this particual Blu-ray yet because I haven't watched it yet (I own it though) but the previous ones sounded very post-processed/cleaned up (like the live Blu-rays/DVD's for a lot of Japanese bands). That means that they sound very good, but also that some of the tiny imperfections might have been buffed out. To make myself clear, I am NOT saying they were not playing it live, they absolutely were, just that the recorded sound for the Blu-ray/DVD release were post-processed/cleaned up (again like most Japanese bands do). It's very possible they didn't post-process this one as much this time. I know that was the case for the lastest Blu-rays of one of the other more known (as far as yt goes) Japanese female bands as well. They might have prefered it to keep it more raw and closer to the actual live sound this time. But I obviously don't know for sure if that's really the case, it's just a guess by me. I am curious though as I will check out their recently streamed concert in the next couple of days (before it expires). That one shouldn't have any post-production on it since it was streamed live, so it would be nice to compare. I personally love that you can still hear tiny imperfections over it being completely cleaned up, it makes it sound more real to me. The mix of the guitars is an other thing though, it's somewhat of a shame that happened but mixing a live show like this is extremely difficult from what I have heard. There are so many variables and everyone's setup is different (and is different from the speakers in that huge venue).

@@MaartenT It could probably be a treatment issue then. I also prefer the untreated sound, with the flaws, the problem is that, for me, in many moments it ruined the listening experience. Sometimes it seemed like they hadn't rehearsed properly, for example at the Stand and Deliver of the last show. For me, it was bad. But I'm intrigued because I watch videos of shows by Unlucky Morpheus, Nemophila, Band Maid (among others, not counting Western bands), and I've never noticed flaws to the point of "ruining the music". To repeat, Lovebites is my favorite Japanese band. I'm just trying to understand what happened.

@@andreesteves2 I don't know for sure for Unlucky Morpheus (although their Live blu-rays sound very polished as well) since they are independent and I don't know how much money they can spend on extra production but I know for sure that Band-Maid's earlier DVD/Blu-rays are very post-processed (it was the band I meant where their latest Blu-ray also sounds a bit more raw). I don't know if I have checked out Nemophila's Blu-rays yet because I typically already watched the streamed shows that they put on the Blu-rays. Most Japanese blu-rays I have watched sound pretty polished and I own a whole bunch of them from more J-Pop like Zutomayo over rock bands (Band-Maid, Gacharic Spin, tricot) to metal bands like Lovebites, Unlucky Morpheus and Seikima II. Most albums and DVD/Blu-rays are very polished if I compare it to the metal bands I listened to for 20 years before diving into the Japanese scene (to be fair a lot of that were more extreme metal genres like black metal) I should really take the time to compare both streams and the released Blu-rays for the bands where I have access to both a livestreamed video and the Blu-ray of the same concert (I believe Band-Maid, Gacharic Spin and Nemophila). I am really curious how much extra production they put on.

@@MaartenT Your information is very interesting. But we can also take as a basis the cell phone or official festival videos that are on KZbin (there are many from Nemophila and Band Maid), and it is possible to notice the mistakes, but nothing that causes discomfort. Remembering now, on KZbin there is a video of Lovebites at BloodStock 2018 and Wacken 2019. I think they are the only ones we found, for sure, without treatment. In Wacken I don't remember, but BloodStock really made a lot of mistakes. By the way, I don't know if you know, but launched a new female band, in the style of Unluck Morpheus, called East of Eden. I think you'll like it.

@@andreesteves2 I believe Lovebites comes to the US next year, so we can expect at least a couple of fancam videos. They are really not tolerated in Japan (with some exceptions where the band themselves asks for them in 1 song like Saiseiga did and they used them for a video made with fancams). People won't risk breaking the rules, losing their phone and getting kicked out. My guess is it might stick out for you more on this one because you love the band so much, you know the tracks inside and out and because their style of music is very fast and technical so tiny changes stick out more. This performance personally didn't really bother me, but I am not a Lovebites superfan so I might not notice certain things. I appreciate them a lot and really like some of their tracks (typically the more thrashy ones), but I am still not a huge power metal fan, so I listen to them in smaller doses. I have become a fan over time, just like with Unlucky Morpheus and Mary's Blood, but it's still not my preferred style of music. As far as East Of Eden goes, I have heard them I am not really convinced yet but there should be plenty of overlap for Lovebites fans because Mao is involved. I am generally not the biggest fan of a lot of Mao written tracks and the song also sounds very produced to me, but I will give them more chances for sure (I really like D_Drive and Yuki is involved). If they ever release an EP/album or live Blu-ray I will check it out for sure, I did the same for Lonesome_Blue and I like this more than I did Lonesome_Blue. They certainly have the talent to keep growing (as long as BangDream allows Ayasa to do so).

If you ignore the harmony, the configuration will be ruined. It's obviously wrong to stop the video.
