It wouldn't be the amazing thing that it is without the original, but TOOL owns it now.

Don't get me wrong I really love the original but this one has a more euphoric vibe to it which I love

Great reaction. I’m a 57 year old drummer. Loved them from the beginning. Just saw them 11/11 in Connecticut they still have it. Awesome show. Keep going a lot of good tracks on Fear Inoculum

Your reactions are a breath of fresh air! Can’t wait to see and hear what else you have in the works for Tool. Also, it’s probably been said to you already, but be sure to check out Maynard’s other projects, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle.

Adam's heavily rolled-off guitar tone, especially when playing octaves, really creates the stark dark mood. It adds to the desperation Maynard is putting into the vocals and the utter bleakness of the situation. Brilliant. Before getting into Tool decades ago, I equated guitar playing with the ability to shred. Adam Jones changed my mind. He almost never shreds but is the master of sound and mood. So creative.
@GuitarSoloReactions11 ай бұрын
He is definitely great at setting the mood, many of my favorite players are not Shredders, but magicians when it comes to creating a mood or evoking emotion. Thank you for the comment.

Rumor was this was developed for inclusion on "Encomium", but as there is only so much room on a CD it got pushed off to make room for the likes of "Hootie and the Blowfish" and "4 Non Blondes" doing some of the shorter tunes. Eventually released on the box-set-of-leftovers "Salival" although there was a bootleg MP3 (studio/board but maybe not quite this final mix) for years before that back to around when "Encomium" was, and a few live performances too.
@Spudz768 ай бұрын
(the other rumor was it was for the Stern "Private Parts" soundtrack or companion album, 95 or 97, either rumor fits more or less)
@GuitarSoloReactions8 ай бұрын
I barely remember Encomium tribute record, like most tribute records I didn’t like most of the covers. Tool’s version would have been a highlight if included. I just listened too most of the tracks are not good.except Dancin Days by StoneTemple Pilots.

Not deep and nasty enough in this sound like Led Zeppelin. The mood is not scarey enough....it doesn't seem desperate enough. It sounds flat and not emotional enough. Don't like it!!!😊😊😊
