I've been researching this guitar these last few days (just purchased it yesterday) and i have to say this video gives THE best demonstration of what it can do and how it can sound. If i hadnt already bought it yesterday, this video would have sealed the deal for me. Amazing playing, loved it!!

My pleasure! I’m really glad you liked the video and thank you so much for stopping by The channel. Stay tuned for more, and hope you are enjoying your new Eastman! I was really blown away by this one during this demo

Just bought one 2 days ago. I was blown away. Went to buy a Martin or Iris. The E20P outperformed a $6000 Santa Cruz and every Martin in the store except the D45 & a 50 yr old D28.

Exactly. I’ve also found that with Eastmans. Some are good, but if you have the chance to try a couple of a particular model, there is usually an exceptional guitar just waiting in the wings. I found the exact same thing with you when I picked up my T185mx (traded a Gibson 137 for it, and have not been let down in 10 years), and my more recent Lee acquired E6OM (I have not tried a 00018 that has outperformed it). These guitars by Eastman punch far above their price point, especially when you do some looking around. Congrats on your new Eastman purchase, and I’m so happy you found a great E20P!

Definitely has volume. I thought at first it was the way you “attacked it”. The resonance is pure and shows up in the second part of your demonstration. Love the melodies as well. Great Tuesday again.

Hey Wally. Thanks so much for watching, and yes it’s a very resonant little monster of an acoustic. I appreciate your kind words and thanks for checking it out!

enjoyed your Blind Blake take. Just curious if you have listen to Blind Owl Al Wilson of Canned Heat. I think you would get alot out of it if you do, considering your style. Thanx I'm getting one of these parlours

Loved the sound of the guitar. I'd consider picking that up myself. There's definitely a parlor in my future.
@LucasHaneman3 жыл бұрын
Hey there Arthur! I seriously think you should consider picking this one up if it’s still there, and if timing is right for you. I’ve played lots of parlour guitars, and this one is easily in the top 10% of all of them I’ve tried. Bigger sound then you would think for a guitar it’s size, and the Adirondack top on this one has that springy and full of life quality that good Adirondack possesses

Hello Lucas, I would say that this guitar fits to your playing style very well, and you truly make it "bark"!

Haha thanks for the kind words Thomas! Really appreciate you checking out The video as always! Yes, I enjoyed my time with this Little parlour hound. Glad it came across

A lesson on your right hand strumming is just as important as your left hand chords. 👏🏻

Thanks so much! That’s very very kind of you. You know I think I have done a couple of videos on this channel over the past few years on right hand technique. If you type in my name plus picking hand or right hand. You might find some stuff. Either way I’m actually thinking about doing some more updated videos on technique in the near future so stay tuned if interested. Thanks again. I really appreciate you checking out the video.!

Size is an illusion - big sound! This is a serious instrument. Always thought parlour guitars were a notch above ukele's and mandolins and strictly for campfires (to play at - not kindling), but that's also a myth. This seems like a serious instrument, convenient enough to write songs with on the road or at home, and for special intimate settings or stage numbers. Hmmmmm - I'll add one to my dream list!

hello Guy! Absolutely agree with you. Much like the parlour guitar I am lucky to own made by Peggy White, this one has that larger than life quality for its size. easily in the top 10% of parlour guitars I’ve played. Some of them are just what you mentioned, being a notch above ukuleles or the lIke, but good ones like this are serious instruments that stand alongside any dreadnaught, OM or jumbo. For me, my parlour guitar has become my primary songwriting tool, end it is certainly an instrument I am more than happy to gig with and record with on a regular basis

What a coincidence. 10 hours ago I wrote you a long message in reply to one of your answers to me. In my message I wrote that I have an E20P.
@LucasHaneman3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this comment and for the other one as well. I will absolutely right back to you as soon as I get the chance to look at your comment in more detail. As for the E20P, wow, what a guitar! Glad to hear you’ve got one
@Morten_Nielsen19793 жыл бұрын
@@LucasHaneman I am looking forward to read your answer. I am not in a hurry, so take your time. Try to check out the video "Eastman AC312 testing on full throttle". That guitar seem to be good for playing Flamenco on a steelstring guitar. I wonder if it is better for me than the E10OM. Another interesting guitar is the Eastman E10-oo. Ian Meadows has a good video of it. Soundpure has a video in which they compare it to the E10P. Maybe the E0oo is even better for me than the E20P, seing that Mahogany works better for Country than Rosewood does. God damn it, I want to try them all 😂

@@Morten_Nielsen1979 so many choices I know a? I guess I would say if you’ve come to like your E20P, you might regret trading it so quickly. I’m going to reply to your other comment separately as soon as I can as I say, but I will say you’ve probably done the right thing by going for Rosewood in a small bodied guitar like a parlour Of course, just my opinion, but with the added base response in Rosewood I find it’s well suited to small body guitars. I adore mahogany, but tend to prefer it in 000 sized instruments and up personally. It’s hard for me to tell you which direction to go in as I’ve never heard you play and we are also different as players. We also have different ears and preferences as musicians, and this is a great thing. As I say, so many choices and it’s nice that there are lots of great guitars out there to consider :-) just try not to get bog down by it all, and try to enjoy the gear you have around as much as possible at the same time
@Morten_Nielsen19793 жыл бұрын
@@LucasHaneman Absolutely. There is a good chance I will never sell my E20P. I made the rule for myself, that I have to play them a lot (and enjoy them) before I sell any of them. I even enjoy playing my 330 euro solid body Recording King - although I am considering to change it with the second hand E10om for sale here in Spain. It is a good point regarding Rosewood and the parlour sized guitar. Happy picking! 🎸❤️👍

Yes indeed. Thanks for your comments again. Which recording king guitar is that again? I haven’t played enough of them to form a true opinion, but I’ve heard great things. The E10OM is a Nice guitar for sure. I have the E6OM, and play it daily. Wonderful guitars for a range of styles

About 30 seconds in you opened the sinuses on that thing and started breathing. It’ll never sound the same again. Whoever ends up with is lucky you operated on it. 😉

Hahaha I never thought of it that way, but I really apreciate this comment! I guess you're right. I always want to see how much a guitar can give back and try to play with as much dynamics as possible.... lol sometimes maybe I hit acoustics a little too hard, but it's better than the alternative. :)
