Hey why don’t you make a cigar box bass?

I play guitar, so I like building them and playing them, but could build a bass in the future. M~

Hi mike. What are the dimentions of a 3 string guitar neck. 25 inch scale. Cheers - love the videos
@SouthernFireGuitars4 жыл бұрын
Hey Rick, sorry just seen your message. I usually use a 1 x 2 , with a 6'' head stock, ( but that's a preference thing really ) and the length will vary depending on the box length and if I'm doing a through the body design or not.

Good morning Michael , how do you get that symbol of a barbed wire barb ? It's branded into the headstock...but how you get the shape of it , is a mystery so far .

Hi Michael Great little vid, any chance you could do a simple instructional video on beginner blues without a slide on a fretted CBG? I know you've done a couple in the past and they were great, Time for another one maybe? Keep the vids coming, luv em All the best to all you CBG fans Stay safe Greeting from Chris ( UK)

I recall someone on u-tube made either an electric guitar or a bass out of an old shovel. Talk about inexpensive materials! That might be cheaper than your cigar boxes! I don't remember how the thing sounded, but it cracked me up. A shovel! Really? The other thing was since your style of guitar playing is picking and grinning, shit the bass should be a piece of cake for you. Anyway, just a little idea for you. I think the dog bowl sounds better than the paint lid. Better tone
@SouthernFireGuitars4 жыл бұрын
Ive seen the shovel guitars, very cool. I may have to make one some day. I'm not sure which I like better the dog bowl or the paint can lid, they both sound a little different.

Hey Micheal. I have recently found your channel. I love your humor and your knowledge of CBG’s. I want to build a few out of old metal tool cases. Have you ever used a metal box to make a CBG?
@SouthernFireGuitars3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Dave, I appreciate that. I have not made any guitars out of metal as of yet, but maybe soon I'll give it a go. M~

All superb in sound and looks, you have an excellent eye for detail and symmetry, some real beautiful grain, i like the grain change on the headstock. The blue with the Earth Moon soundholes is a true jem and all played like they deserve to be, great stuff Michael.
