Probably the best drummer I've ever heard. So he's not a poser and makes it look effortless, you tend to underestimate just how good he is. He doesn't play crap he's there to compliment the music not overpower it, it's a gift. Grateful he's back. Big fan of the Pumpkins and Jimmy.

Hi saw the smashing pumpkins last night in Indianapolis do a 3 1/2 hour set. Jimmy was so precise and so technical and so dynamic that it blew my mind. I’ve been playing drums for 30 years and I haven’t seen that much perfection before. There’s always little things that I catch a concert where the drummer screws up or miss is a cue or something like that but Jimmy was on top of it the entire 3 1/2 hours set. He did three solos last night. Small mid song solos and they were mesmerizing! Their stage show was amazing as well. Those drums and cymbals sounded amazing!

lol Dave Grohl was your first thought? Only disrespect is that you're comparing the two. Jimmy is on a different planet. It's amazing he even ended up with the Pumpkins as few other alt rock drummers (any?) of that era had his technical ability. Part of what made SP so unique and still a great band, even as tastes evolve.

It's a pleasure hearing Jimmy speak well about the Pumpkins sound and his own definition of it. I think for a while he hated being pigeon-holed for being an alternative player in loud pop-style songs almost like it was beneath him, coming from his jazzy background. I think what he finally realized over the years is that his playing is fucking incredible on those loud alt-pop songs (the quiet shoegaze ones too!) and they really transcend pop without becoming it. His drum parts are often incredibly technical, but ALWAYS tasty and well-chosen for the song. Jimmy, you have already left a rich legacy with your drumming and I finally saw you guys on tour for the first time in Philadelphia after listening to you as a kid in the 90s and it was an epic experience. I hope you realize that what you did in the past was magical and you should always be proud of it, hope that one day you guys can rip a new album with the original four!

Cinnamon Life Cereal seeing Vinnie play live was an experience I'll never forget. I've always been a Sting fan, more of a Police fan. I just really love the way that Vinnie utilizes his Splash cymbals it's like he's painting on a canvas but just putting a little Dash of bright blue here and a little Dash of turquoise there. I've been gigging for 20 years so I'm trying to put it in words but it's hard to.

Carey and Chamberlain are the two best in my opinion. I would love to hear which one can pull off the others catalog better; this is the only way to truly tell which is better in my opinion...in a technical sense anyway. I think jimmy would have a slight edge but again thats just me.

Carey? Who is he? Never heard of him! Jimmy and Dave Grohl are the two best drummers of the past thirty years hands down. No one else makes the list. These two amazing drummers and only them could replace Bonzo, if Zeppelin wanted to play live again! Yes, they are that powerful and sharp!

Dyn Jarren Danny Carey from Tool! He’s my favorite drummer of all time. Go listen to “Pneuma” and “Invincible” to start off with amazing drum tracks!

Jimmy Chamberlain is one of the BEST......maybe even the BEST drummer!! His style is so organic, there's a beauty in his drumming that is extremely rare among drummers anymore. I'm glad that he's back with the Pumpkins again.... that seat was always meant for him anyway. God Bless, Jimmy! ❤

Saw the Pumpkins headline an early Lollapalooza back in the 90's with the original line-up supporting Siamese Dream. I was completely blown away. They were simply flawless in every facet and they were LOUD! Goodness... Where'd the time go?.?...😐

I would put jimmy against any rock drummer alive today, he would smoke them all!

stromer24 I would put him against any rock drummer ever for that matter. I know it’s cliche’ to turn to Bonham, but he’s really the only rock drummer I can think of with the same blend of chops and groove and dare I say it, JC may...might...could maybe be better. Gasp!

That kit is amazing. Glad Jimmy is doing well and rocking still. I saw Pumpkins in late 90s. Great show. I gotta see them again.
