I guess I’d like to see a demonstration of how you would use a looper like this in practice. What you demonstrated here -recording three guitar parts in a plugin hosted inside a DAW- is exactly what I would use the DAW for without the plugin. I’m sure there must be some advantage to doing it this way, but so far I’m not understanding what that might be.

I'll try to do more stuff soon. Of course this isn't a plugin for everyone, but it can certainly be used to do some cool stuff. Loopers are usually used for live stuff, ambient stuff or 1 man band style performances. Thanks for watching.

@@boimesa8190 I find the workflow in most DAWs to be worse for this type of thing, but there are some DAWs such as Ableton(I believe) that have something like this built in. If you aren;t into looping you really don't need a looper, but if you are I think the workflow is better than using your DAW.

Not many DAWs can overdub audio into a single clip/track easily. The advantage here is having 16 tracks and "endless" overdubs in a single plugin or window, with proper and dedicated MIDI control options, for example mapping "Reverse" or "Select track and record" functions. Individual loop lengths and other sync options make this much more powerful than most DAWs implementation of looping.
@BitwigCraft4 жыл бұрын
This with realtime pitching and time stretching would be a dream come true. Changing the bpm within the DAW makes the loops go out of sync currently, which is fair enough since no other plugin does proper stretching, only a few do pitch shifting to match the tempo.
@zerocrossing4 жыл бұрын
BitwigCraft The only thing I’ve ever seen that does that with real time audio looping is the Electrix Repeater. I heard they had a plugin version that they were working on, but it never came to be.

Hey this has been super helpful. I'm just researching if msuperlooper is right for my needs. The biggest thing I'm looking for is recording each loop track to a separate track in my DAW. I can't seem to find any of your videos showing how to do that? Is that possible with this software? Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!
@davidnika4464 жыл бұрын
I grabbed the beta version, and I got the basic gist pretty quick. But I'm sketchy on how to really use it. So this is a nice little demo. MSuperlooper seems like a mini-Ableton gadget. Any chance you could do a tut on looping for total beginners? (Using this plugin, of course). I can see what you're doing, but when actually trying to use this, I quickly see that for every single thing I understand, there are 5 other things that I don't understand. I'm not a total beginner, but a "total beginners" tutorial would help a lot of people with different levels of experience.

if i trigger session record clips using a standard foot pedal which is what i do to record guitar/drum key part loops anyway in ableton is there any point to this plug in ? maybe for all other DAW's other than ableton it might be worth it but surely all daw's support recoring audio in anyway don't they ? i've been using computers to sequence music since 1992 and can't work this out :)
@brianmi404 жыл бұрын
For one thing, if you truly review the list of effects this has, at $19 today on Pluginboutique, there is simply no way you could get all those effects for Ableton for $19. I haven't used my Ableton for some years, but I'd also suggest checking all the functionality you can do for live looping with a MIDI controller to control the software. This tool may have more flexibility in that area. He has a video showing how to map a MIDI controller to control it, and it looks crazy comprehensive, but maybe Live does all you need it to. As I say, I'm picking it up as simply the effects it has built into it are worth the $19 if you are going to play around with looping at all, and especially in another DAW than Live...

@@starsandguitars2050 Look for a MIDI Host program to use with it. There are free ones as well as paid for ones, they basically just allow you to play a (one or more) VST without all the overhead and complexity of a DAW. They also can support set lists, and MIDI control to step through the songs on it. With one, and this tool, along with a MIDI foot controller (see his video on how he configures one for this tool), you could easily create a set list, where each song has pre-defined effects on each channel of this tool so that as you lay down the loops you would get the effects you want. at $19 today on Pluginboutique, you couldn't even buy all the effects this thing has built in to use with something like Ableton Live... so a pretty good deal in my book and am picking it up today.
