Thanks for your passion for music from a fellow guitarist! 🎸 People think JP is all fast playing and he's a beast in that realm but he has some of the most passionate and emotive guitar solos I have heard in many years. LTE is just amazing - first album was unbelievable but the 2nd one is crazy too - it could only be amazing with that lineup. You should also check out the Evening with JP and JR live album which is great.

I don't understand what this has to do with music at all. Is it a competition to play as many notes as possible in the shortest time possible? The guys' technical skills are of course undisputed. But with this skill, you can surely do more useful things than simulate a machine gun, right?
@canman872 ай бұрын
@@petergrohmuller1372 Why not? If that's what a person wants to express, then what's the problem with that? If it isn't for you, just say that instead. Besides, if you were actually familiar with the musical library of all these guys, you know that each one of them are capable of doing everything from the most mellow and heartfelt playing all the way up to shredding your balls off. You don't have to like all of it, but to reduce it all to "simulating a machine gun" is completely disingenuous.
@petergrohmuller13722 ай бұрын
@@canman87 Just listen to me carefully: I'm playing guitar since 50 years and so I know very well that these guys are playing in the Champions League with their skills. I saw Tony Levi live with Allan Holdsworth and it was fantastic. "You don't have to like everything..." Right! As long as people are allowed to freely express their opinions on KZbin, including using sarcasm, I won't let anyone stop me from doing so, not even you... and if you don't get that, that's your problem.

I loved hearing you talk about his technique and how effortless it looks. I feel the same way about Steve Vai's playing, it's not just the shreddy stuff he can pull off, but just how dang easy he makes it always look. He's got a great video on his channel playing Gravity Storm live with a camera mounted to the headstock so you can see super up close what his fretting fingers are doing.
