I just discovered Stephen Wilson Jr because of this video. Went down the rabbit hole and have become obsessed. Don’t even like country but i find his music one of the most exciting things I’ve heard in years. Man thank you so much for introducing his music to me.

So cool to see Molly here, she came through our studio last year and then won a Grammy (not cause of us, it was just shocking to be like oh shit they were here like a few months ago). Really kind person who can absolutely rip on an acoustic.

Mayer said yesterday on his IG that he is "breaking ground on recording a new album in about a week". As a huge Deadhead AND Mayer fan, I'm excited to see what he comes up with next. Sob Rock was definitely something different with lots of influence from the likes of Knopfler and other 80s greats, I can't wait to see where he goes with his next chapter. If you get a chance, definitely check out Dead and Co. They put on one hell of a show. Hope to make it to the Sphere this spring as well.

It would be amazing if when doing this kind of videos you would upload a Spotify playlist (or similar) with the songs/albums you enjoy about them! I sometimes listen to these recommendations but either don't end up enjoying a couple of them or it may be just that I don't find the good album/songs. Anyway, just a suggestion! Keep it up!

I've seen Billy Strings three times, GO you will love it. I've seen Molly about eight or nine times, including about a week and a half ago at her Christmas show. I got to meet her that night. She is super cool. Her band is super tight and talented too. I've got one to add for next year Sammy..., Check out Larkin Poe. They are two sisters, Rebecca and Megan Lovell, who play blues. Rebecca has a buleswoman's voice, and rips on guitar. Her sister, Megan will blow your mind. She plays lap steel, standing up, and is known to her fans as "The Slide Queen." Check her out, and suddenly you will NEED a lap steel in your life. You can thank me next year. Billy Gibbons played with her, and said she made him pull his lap steel out of the closet.

The little sisters of the Allman Brothers. Love them, especially in their videos where it’s just the two of them up close and personal. “Mississippi” is a personal favorite.

After looking into Billy Strings I finally got inspired to pick up a guitar again after a 10 year hiatus. I bought a 23" acustic, just to have as a sofa-jammer, but it has decended into much more. Also, I don't even play bluegrass. Im more of a late 60s, early 70s kinda guy. Plus, I love folk music, so Dylan, Fairport, and such is also a love of mine. So hearing Billy fingerpick these old Dylan and Grateful Dead classics so beautifully, I just had to give it a try. I'm a fingerpicking noob, so therefore, I have only learned and mastered Make You Feel My Love (slow, relatively easy to both sing and play, and a great trick to fetch some cherry pie). I also learned the entire Hotel California, and from going 10 years of not playing to practice those pesky Joe Walsh bends in the solo on an acustic was quite the bloody (literally) finger exercise.

If you notice all of these are talented songwriters. Matteo’s songwriting is not as good. 100% a technical master far above anyone on this list, but still needs to work on the creation craft. Samurai doesn’t seem a big fan of noodling instrumental smooth jazz.
@TheTransitmtl15 күн бұрын
Best doesn't always mean technically the best. Mateo and that kid from Polyphia are technically amazing but that's it. None of it inspires me to listen to their albums. And when I do it just has no soul to it.

Have you been hipped to Ren yet??? I'm a Stephen Wilson Jr. fan and music lover and musician. Ren is found a whole new level of modern day artistry he transcends genre. He is most likely the best artists of this generation, (yes I know what I just said). But he's Larry Bird and can and does back that up. Start with HI Ren and then deep dive the full Ren rabbit hole. It's mind blowing! The way I describe Ren is this: take the DNA from John Frusciante, Sting, Jeff Buckley, Dr Dre, & Eminem, wrap it up with some Cillian Murphy, and glaze with Shakespeare. Kid does it all and does it well. But see for yourself and you'll want to react to everything, it'll be great for your channel. But glad to see Stephen make your list... He deserves it. Enjoyed this full list.

Some great guitarists here. They won't male my playlist which is not a comment on their skills. My tastes just run in a different vein. With a name like "samuraiguitarist," I expected to see some Japanese guitarists on the list. Japan really has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to great musicians. Some of my favorite guitarists are Hal-ca with Asterism, Lisa-X with Koiai, and Kanami with Band-Maid. They are all rock/metal guitarists. If you check them out, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
