In this All My Loving guitar lesson video, I will show all the guitar chords to this much loved classic by The Beatles. I will also show you how to play George Harrison's guitar solo note-for-note.
"All My Loving" makes for an excellent rhythm guitar work due to the liberal use of bar chords, and the quick triplet strumming pattern that is played throughout the verse.
This strumming pattern can be a bit of a challenge, so I will make sure to break it down within the video lesson so it won't be very difficult for you to get correct feel for it.
Most of the song is dominated by John Lennon's rhythm guitar part that incorporates those triplet strums. He is using basic major, minor and 7th chords, but you may not be very familiar with the chord voicings that he uses to play those chords. Hopefully, you will learn some new chord shapes along with the tricky right hand rhythm.
The chorus has a much more simple staccato feel about it so you probably won't have much trouble with it.
George Harrison's solo is next and it can be a challenge as well. He jumps around the fretboard basing his solo around a lot of the same chord voicings that John Lennon uses in the verse, along with some hybrid picking as well. I will demonstrate the entire solo phrase-by-phrase and let you know how to pick each chord.
I will close out the lesson with a couple of different chord voicings that end the song. These happen in a pretty high register, but aren't very difficult to play. Good Luck!
Carl...

It seems like there's at least one valuable lesson about how music works in every song they've written they often break the rules of convention in regards to songwriting. I don't see how anyone who has any love of music,or passing knowledge of how it works, could fail to appreciate them. There's always some ingenious little nuance somewhere.

I admit, it sounds good. But I’m too lazy for Beatle voicing. I picked it out long ago but may have missed a chord. The first thing to know is the damned song is in E, though F#m is the first chord. To the best of my memory, it’s F#m, B, E, A, F#m, D, B7./Repeat, and I know I’m missing Cm or whatever. That got passed me//chorus: don’t recall well. Maybe F#m, B, F#m, A, E-pretty sure that’s wrong but I DO know the main verse gets back to E quickly, whereas the chorus verses stop off at A, I think. And for the solo, I do the ascending bass, but just mess around with E a bit. I would have learned it correctly but for arthritis. So how’s my faking it? Close at all? Also, what’s withe the Beatles and voicing? I’ll take open E any day over mid-fret E. Even George goes to open E at the end of the solo!

Unbelievable. I mean the sheer audacity to criticize someone - someone who is kind enough and skilled enough to teach others - because you cannot decipher your own flubs… Are you so entitled to think he would read your comment and remake the lesson to your specification? Dude, be grateful. And stop telling people what they should be doing. You think way too highly of yourself. Otherwise, if you’re going to be critical then make your own guitar lessons and show how it’s done.
