One of my favorite Led Zeppelin tunes. The tone and feel is dreamy and amazing.

The first part can be easier played starting on the 5th fret: A13/E to E9 on 7th fret. Much easier voicing.

Great lesson. Pages first Les Paul recording, so use a Strat.
@kevinmcfarland1174 жыл бұрын
Page played the verse chords at a different position, around 5th and 7th frets.

At 5:03 you play an A power chord. I have the Led Zeppelin Complete Guitar book from years ago and it shows the A6 chord which just adds the F# on the top. Does Page play that or just the power chord? The A6 has a beautiful sound to it.

Depending on what Carl used as a reference, the original recording or, a live recording. Jimmy never played the same song the same way twice! So to answer your question, neither way is the "wrong" way to play it.

At 4:53 you refer to F# as "F". Appy polly logies if someone beat me to it. (In my defense I'm an idiot...)

An easier way to play the intro is 007670 to 076700 but everything else is awesome

Here the way I learned by ear 005670 to 006770 Try that....and I'm just curious to see what u think
@alanhowell36464 жыл бұрын
@@AudioStorm1980 first chord is ok but the open A in the E9 just clashes. It’s the 4th of E9 and is not a chord tone. An avoid note.

In other words without Jonesey's badass bass line, there's not much going on. Nice lesson though, thx.

fucking impossible chord shape
@mikedreucci42367 жыл бұрын
billygoat126 this should be played in the fifth position. So much easier. Watch Jimmy Page play it. Only have to move 2 fingers to change chords.
