Do you know the name of that "D", chord? I don't think it's a true D. I kind of discovered that one a while ago (thought I put my ring finger on the 6th string) and never seen anyone else use it. Always been curious what the true chord is.

+Doug Akins The "C slide" D chord is a D chord with the 2 (or 9) and 4 (or 11) added. Not a typical combination, which is why it sounds a little different. You could say something like Dadd2add4 or Dadd9add11
