Steve thanks so much for the lesson. That being said, I may have come up with an easier way, for some people, to play the part that starts at the 2:50 mark of Pt. 2. I use my middle finger on the 7th. Fret to start that section, that way it is not such a jump to the fifth fret, fifth string. I use the middle finger to jump back to the 7th.fret, then I switch to the index finger to make the 8th. To 7th. Fret jump. It helped me.

Very helpful. I still think some theory would be nice to see under the hood, so to speak, to add predictability to these riffs (metal riffs in general follow very similar scales and progressions, not unlike all other genres..). E minor, verse riff modulates to B, the V chord (beyond beginner level, perhaps).

maybe your guitar isn't in tune, sometimes the note you fret doesn't come out in tune while your open is, so you need to get that fixed in a guitar shop or someone that knows how to do it, and usually B. C. Rich guitars have floating trems, which are more difficult to deal with, idk if you solved your problem or not, but I hope I helped

Thanks for the kind words, David! Here's another video of Steve's that you might like: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYqmeqBuaJhnbZo In the video, Steve talks about ego and project songs. Basically, an ego song is a song that's easy to play, and a project song is one that's harder to play, one you have to work on for a while. If you only play ego songs, you get bored and you don't make progress. And if you only play project songs, you can get frustrated because you're not having any fun. In the video, Steve talks about finding a balance, so you can have fun and make progress at the same time. Hope this helps! :-) Just wanted to give a heads-up, if you enjoy Steve’s KZbin videos, you should definitely go here and check out the new GuitarZoom Premium Membership → guitarzoom.com/join Members get unlimited streaming of 40+ of Steve’s best guitar courses, including ✔️ 36 Metal Licks ✔️ CAGED Made Simple ✔️ Barre Chords Made Easy ✔️ Ear Training 2.0 ✔️ Unlocking The Fretboard Connection ✔️ Chord Chasing Mastery ✔️ Music Theory Made Easy ✔️ Play Guitar For Life ✔️ Blues Guitar ✔️ Rock Licks ✔️ Acoustic Guitar ...and many more.
