Beautiful arrangement, explained in a very clear manner. I love the way you arranged phrases 5, 6, and 7. Thank you for teaching us so much and for doing it always with your beautiful smile.

Thanks for your lovely comment, Luis! It's funny how this is one of my favorite Bossa tunes, but it doesn't seem to be very popular (at least not outside Brazil 😊). Glad I have a companion, who also likes this song.

Thanks for your advice and bought a jazz guitar. I also will be taking weekly lessons to help make up for the lost time. Now I'm really looking forward to taking advantage of your lessons. Thanks, Sandra! I know all your subscribers appreciate your detailed lessons.

Very cool! I think private lessons are the best way to advance quickly. Make sure the chemistry between you and your teacher fits. If it doesn't change the teacher! All the best! Sandra

That is a wonderful song. Thanks for always doing such an amazing job for all us understudies! Have you considered posting a performance? I don’t know if you play in a club or with a band but I am sure it would be enjoyed by all your subscribers. Jens Larsen has a great jazz instructional channel also but you teach us songs which I really appreciate. God bless and hope it is summer in Austria! It is nice here on Long Island NY USA.

Hi Frank, Thanks for your kind words. There will be a performance of me and a fellow youtuber on June 13th. Stay tuned! I do have performance videos of gigs, but I don't know if they belong on this channel. Summer started here and it became pretty hot the last week, which I like very much.

Bossa Nova and Latin are my favorites, even it takes more time to get the feeling for it. Thanks for the lesson!

You gotta get that gyn under your fingers. Check out my video on Bossa Nova grooves. Once you don't have to think about the groove anymore, the rest is pretty simple.

I really ❤all lessons. Favorite tune or standard is hard to say but boss a nova lessons are really fun to learn . Can you make more comping lessons ? I know is too easy for you but 🎉 I’m forever beginner,I watching every single video this my school
@GuitarversumSandraSherman Жыл бұрын
Yes, I can 😉. But Bossas always get demonetized by KZbin. They even demonetized the Comping lesson for Girl From Ipanema, although there was no melody in it. Chords progressions can't be copyrighted. It's crazy with KZbin.
@robertodagamapaes1657 Жыл бұрын
I didn’t know that!! Thanks for your reply. But anyway all your chord melody lessons has chords in it and every note you explain with great detail. Thank you so much Sandra a good teacher like you is priceless 🇧🇷🙏

Bossa Nove, the most relaxed music for me.
@GuitarversumSandraSherman5 жыл бұрын
Oh yes. It's the counterpart to Samba, which is wild and impetuous. Bossa Nova is soft, cool and sophisticated. I like both styles actually.

Thank you Sandra. Another wonderful arrangement. Might be a little steep for me just yet but I'll get to it. My choice of Latin song would be Quizaz or Besame Mucho. Thanks for asking.
@GuitarversumSandraSherman5 жыл бұрын
This song is easier to play than it looks. Have you checked my video on Bossa Nova rhythm patterns? That's the first step to take. Once the groove is in your head it's so much easier to weave the melody in between.

Isn't it exciting to learn new stuff? My professir back at the conservatory used to call me a "Schwamm", which is (as you provably know) the German is for sponge, because I tend to soak up all the information I can get.

Chord Melody, fantastic! I'm not sure I'm familiar with this one, although I seem to have a desire to bring my plate to the buffet. A lovely tune. Gracias and thanks

Ha, you just thought me a new idiom. "I want to bring my plate to the buffet" 😁. Thanks for that. And yes, this song is one of my favorites. So relaxed (my niece would say "chilled").
@abejacgot5 жыл бұрын
@@GuitarversumSandraShermanIt really is a layed back, very cool or "chilled" tune, (or in the '70's, I think the term was ".mellow") However we describe it, it's a great choice for jazz students to learn ( or listen to on the way to the buffet, 😊) Til next time, many thanks for all

Thanks for the great lessons, and I LOVE bossa nova. I've worked my way through chords for Desafinado and Chega de Saudade. I discovered your channel recently, and you are already such an inspiration! Planning to buy an electric guitar (for jazz) and amp soon. Here are some lessons I'd love to see, hope I'm not being too greedy - Aquarela do Brasil (Jobim's version on Stone Flower album, often played by jazz guitarists/bands) Stardust I Can't Get Started (my reference is the Lester Young/Oscar Peterson Trio recording) Mack The Knife So What Darn That Dream In the meantime I promise to learn from your existing videos! :)
