To be fair to Gujjus, getting pure vegetarian food in other countries can be a serious challenge. I never realized this and used to judge Indians looking for Indian restaurants in beautiful European countries thinking why don't they try the local cuisine? Then I realized finding vegetarian options and that too tasty ones is a real struggle!

I was on a 🚢 that ran between Athens and Santorini. We were in the section for first class passengers. It was quiet and people sipped at their 🍸 while looking at the beautiful sunset through the bay windows. And then a newly married Gujju couple ambled in talking loudly. They were eating out of an instant noodles tub. The guy told his wife that she was brilliant because she had brought a suitcase full of cup o noodles or they would have starved in Europe. After a while watching the little islands go past, he asked her which island did she want him to buy. This part he made sure to say in English, very loudly. The criticism of the country and its people was in Hindi or Gujarati.

The guy's opinion that eventually older generation will perish - it probably meant the newer generation will have their own new weird issue instead of loudness or carrying food. A Gujju born after 2010 will behave differently when he's older as compared to a 60s or 90s kid.

@7:14 As a proud Gujarati, let me explain. As Gujarati people have been pure vegetarian for the longest time, we did not trust outside food and also the distinct taste of home cooked meals was the reason behind this. Even in Gujarat, every region has its own taste and we people are so obsessed with it, we just cannot live without the taste. I know it’s a bit too much but that’s the reality. I remember going to a friend’s house and they offered me some snacks. They come from different region of Gujarat and I didn’t like the taste of it. 😂😂😂

@@malavdalal - You should be at least ashamed of drinking alcohol being a Gujarati. That's not how Gujarati-Punjabi friendship should work. If you are so proud of being an alcoholic non-vegetarian under the pretext of befriending Punjabi or Marathi then I think you should reconsider where you are going.
@malavdalal12 күн бұрын

@malavdalal - Do you see Christian Gujarati converts of India following vegetarian diet and being teetotalers? Just because non-Indians say that being a vegetarian and teetotaler doesn't fit in our society doesn't mean we should start accepting their culture to appease them. There is nothing wrong with following vegetarian Vaishnav culture especially if you are a Gujarati. Vishnu is our saviour.
@Yazidi25612 күн бұрын
@malavdalal - No matter where you started drinking. You have created a hole in the harmonious Vaishnav culture of Gujaratis. Better go to church and marry that Punjabi friend of yours. Alcoholic Vaishnav aren't acceptable in Gujarati culture.

Just a point in favor of distribution of condoms in college is in India marriage is allowed after you get 18 but judged on sex when you are in college. Approximately you have crossed the age when you get in college so it's a good opinion to normalise things during the college time so as we get older the next generation will be open and more aware of those things.
