Awesome video! My daughter and I are planning to come explore Gulches in Feb of 25 in our jeeps. Seeing some of what y’all went through makes me wish I still had my 88YJ. My gladiator has the turning radius of a battleship. What is the CB channel everyone uses at gulches or the boa fang channel? I have both and have t used either in a long time.

Man…. You are going to LOVE gulches. Awesome trails and has some good camping also. Obviously cold in Feb / March but I believe they have small one room cabins there if you want. I get the turning radius compared to the YJ. Your YJ would be AMAZING there. But you’ll still have a great time. We don’t have a specific radio channel for Gulches (or any park). We just find an open channel as a group that has the least chatter and use that one. The park may have a channel they pick for emergencies… I’m not sure. Have a great time….. and then put Windrock on your list. That one is by far my favorite park on the East Coast

Reminds me of a recent trip to badge of honor trails at Stoney lonesome. After several mishaps by a young driver, I reminded his dad that he learned several lessons today. Keep your head about you and don’t ever give up. We ended up getting home at 2:00 pm with all vehicles intact.

Yea... I don't really know what this guy was thinking other than the fact he was a young man with 2 young girls in the car.... (fill in the blanks 🤣). I do know this was his "farm truck play toy" so beating it senseless was part of the fun for him. He fixed it and was at our next ride just 2 weeks later. We did Stoney Lonesome about 3 months ago. I filmed and documented that weekend also but I have been so caught up with work, I have neglected to finish the editing of that video. I have been working on it last week and I'm hoping to have that one ready to launch this week.

Love all your videos. But when you are doing close ups the background is all blurry. Is that on purpose?
@RoadRashOffRoad Жыл бұрын
Thank you for supporting the channel and I’m glad you find value in my videos. Usually, if there is a shot close on me or a shot i want to direct focus too, I’ll blur the background. But if it’s an action shot or a shot to see the landscape, trail, environment, it will not be blur. Still learning how to be a video content creator

Very cool video. I just picked up my new JL just before Christmas and I'm testing out what I can do with it. 2024 Rubicon 6-spd. Nothing too complicated. So far I've just tried a little of SCAR (2-3 difficulty). I would love to make it a goal to obtain a badge or 2 this year. Hopefully that's doable on the easy trails. It looks like Gulches is the only badge of honor in SC loo obtain, my home state. Cheers!

congrats on the Jeep my friend. Its is defiantly a "lifestyle" addition, far more than any other vehicles. a 24 Rubicon is perfect. you will be shocked at what it can do and what it's capable of, however I would say take it slow on the build and get comfortable with it as a stock jeep before dumping a lot of money into it. a stock rubicon is more than capable. Also, join some Jeep Facebook groups and hop on a couple of rides with them. They are ALWAYS friendly and welcoming and you will learn a lot. If you want a really really fun adventure that is stock friendly with some of the most beautiful scenery in the Southeast, pack up the Jeep and drive the Georgia Traverse from South Carolina to Alabama. It will take you about 4 days of adventure camping and is super easy to do. check out this video we shot on the Georgia Traverse. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnqzo5eYitOEftEsi=7YxIsYR_TVV0sXts

@RoadRashOffRoad Thank you! Yes I'm enjoying it as is and in no hurry to change a bunch of stuff out. I don't plan to do anything too technical anyway and it is my DD. I was super impressed with how it handled that little bit of SCAR that I did. Last time I ran that was in my 19 GC and while that did great, this was a cake walk. I joined a few Jeep FB groups and introduced myself. I'd love the opportunity to go on a ride with someone more experienced if it presents itself. I'm not sure about camping or multi-day events just yet. It's been forever since I've done that and I have a wife and kids who aren't into it lol. But I will figure something out. For now I'm starting off slow and seeing what local trails there are. I'm a little scared to do too technical or deep solo and without recovery gear so we will work up to that. I just figured earning a badge this year would be a cool goal. So I'm sure whatever I do for now will be no problem for my Rubi so I should be good.

Great video man. Sometimes I'm looking for a Jeeping video and went something different than what's out there. This checked that box. Nice job!

Thank you very much Greg.... this was a fun ride. You know honestly, I am not much of a "rock crawler" myself. I enjoy the overlanding side but a lot of the guys in my jeep club do love the harder trails like Gulches.... so it's nice when I can film some aggressive stuff along with the camping stuff that I like. you should defiantly give Gulches a try. It's a small park but worth the drive.

Great video. We had a great time there, as well. A fun little park. It was nice to meet you - even if it was for just a moment.

Super fun off road park! Lots of people tear up their rigs there. Gulches is actually in Waterloo, South Carolina, not North Carolina.

Thank you.... it is such an awesome park. Opps... I didn't realize I said North Carolina.🤦♂

If you thought that park is hard don't come to windrock lmao. Or Moab. These are true BOH trails. You don't even need 4lo there
@RoadRashOffRoad Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the advice Anna. I did all 3 trails at Windrock with no issues (you can watch that video on my channel as well). Recently we just completed our Stoney Lonesome BOH. 404 was an easy trail, Switchback was a bit difficult and Gut Buster was a NO GO for all Jeeps that went with us. I hope to get out to Moab one day but "rock crawling" is not really my thing.... I really enjoy the overlanding side of Jeeping.
