He plays the technical parts brilliantly and the slow melodic parts very musically. The whole piece,and especially this movement is very lighthearted and doesn't need much emotion!

For a cellist his age he plays a marvellous and technically brilliant performance, which is quite astonishing compared to the excellent Heinrich Schiff wo is struggling more with the technical difficulties. To say he'd be playing without emotions is lacking respect for the artist and the composer whose primary focus was to crush some limits with this work in terms of humour and irony. One of the greatest contemporary cello concertos played by a great youg talent with a very nice sound.
