I really enjoy these documentaries about a part of the world I used to visit regularly on a bike with my wife on holiday. No idea it had such a significant military history.

Thanks Chris, very moving. My father in law was D+1 at Sword to the Danish border near Hamburg at VE Day. He was in RTR and lost seven tanks under him. Similar traumas I guess to your father…

Thank you. My father’s generation. My Uncle was killed in Normandy before I was killed. 👍🏻🏴 A very different Salcombe to that of today. I enjoyed staying at Hope Cove in the late 90’s.

My mother worked on Radar during the war, but she never spoke about it as she was sworn to secrecy. Shame, as I would have been very interested to know.
