Yaruq thank you for posting these wonderful ghazals. Shilpa ji is the inheritor of the mantle of ghazalmasters like Mehdi Hasan, Ghulam Ali, Farida Khanum and Iqbal Bano. May Shilpa take this art form forward to a new younger generation. While she educates the audience on the finer points of the qafiya, radeef she might wish to point out the poet, the form and original ghazals were sung by the artists from the 'enemy' country next door. This shared heritage is the bridge through which I hope and pray that friendships will blossom and overshadow the forces of darkness and divisiveness. Many thanks to the wonderful people who hosted this evening for letting us KZbinrs into this private event. Maqam e Faiz koi rah main jacha hee naheen, jo kooe yaar say niklay suay yaar chaley....... long may Shilpaji entertain audiences in India and across the world.

Very well rendered Shipa. I am very impressed by your correct pronunciation (Talafuuz) of Urdu words. Sadly many ghazal singers mispronounce sheen/qhaaf, like kasam instead of qhasam and baaki instead of baaqhi etc. More power to you and I hope some day you will really make it big as undoubtedly you are worthy of it.
