As long as the bait is stinky and smelly here, the catfish will go after it. I always use raw chicken liver or cut up eels when I catch them. Catfish just go nuts over this stuff. Great video

Thanks! I have also used the garlic chicken jello recipe as well as chicken livers and stink bait. I prefer the GULP nightcrawlers because they don't require refrigeration and are not as messy/smelly as some of the other baits.

Power bait doesn't work for me.ive bought some that was old,the store didn't rotate their stock and wouldn't give me a new package of bait the only people who like it that i know of are stocked trout fisherman who only fish on opening day of trout season.i bought some jigs with snall fluke minnows from power bait and they fell right apart.i stopped buying it years ago.

@@edbrown6985 thanks for the comment! Thats a good point! I didn’t consider how the product aging would impact its ability to work. I also wonder if you leave it in your tacklebox and use it a year later if it will even work.

My new idea for gulp nightcrawler is chartreuse color
@FishOclock89 Жыл бұрын
Good idea the catfish In my local lakes love chartreuse. Caught a big blue a few days ago on a chartreuse rooster tail.

Do nightcrawlers work in the area you usually fish?

sounds like you have some picky catfish. Lately I have been targeting active schools of catfish with lures and catching them that way. Way easier than sitting around and waiting. @@markhannan2569

Is there a video on what hook you used and how to thread them on the hook?
@FishOclock89 Жыл бұрын
Don’t have a video on that yet but I can make one. I was using the size 6 eagle claw snelled hooks (they sell them at Walmart), a three way swivel, a 1 oz bank sinker. I believe you can look up santee copper rig for catfish that might help you learn this setup.
@gtr319 Жыл бұрын
@@FishOclock89 do you thread it through the middle or from the front? I am trying to learn how to thread a whole nightcrawler on a smaller hook and not be wasteful.
@FishOclock89 Жыл бұрын
@@gtr319 I will typically use more than one. I will hook them two or three times throughout the worm. I noticed the more worms you use the more responsive the catfish are.

Did it really happen that fast

Yep. I literally casted out and had one on the line in less than 60 seconds. However as a disclaimer this spot I was fishing is very densely populated with blue catfish
