Thank you so much! Avoiding the big jump wasn't my problem. It was those stupid ass lasers! I couldn't avoid them worth crap! So thank you! The technique I use for the big jump is literally let him charge and then fly away. I learned it with those dogs with the shepards that had the canes from the first spyro.

This boss was terribly designed. You have NO control over the camera, but have to carefully choose which directions you move in at a moment's notice! You can't tell where the edge of the arena is, or where the items are, or which direction you need to move in to turn "left". I know it's a classic, and I know it's possible (You just did it), but this is just bad design. I'm glad they didn't make any other bosses like this in the series. Ugh. Still, thanks for the help. These are some rock solid tips.

The thing about this boss's laser ball attack is that when he fires it it doesn't land on the spot you're currently on (unless you're standing still then it'll land on you), instead if you're moving in any direction the attack will land ahead of where you're currently moving meaning by the time it lands it'll hit you if you kept moving in that direction so yeah the solution is to just move in a circle while staying on the same spot and none of the attacks will land on you (instead it'll land in front of you).

Omg! I’ve just defeated him, thanks man I couldn’t have done it without you and your commentary is hilarious, there’s no way I could do it taking no damage however! Tips for others - keep the camera pointing up when he’s firing his cannon so you have a better idea of where they’ll fall and I had some success jumping whilst charging to avoid his belly slam attack. Also prioritise killing chickens so that he can’t regenerate the butterflies hang around so you can scoop them up later if need be. Good luck everyone that is some super frustrating bullshit! 😅

Ita crazy to see how the technique has changed since I was playing as a kid. Also the reason gulp let you do the intro is because of a mechanic that was implemented back in the day incase you had to go and do something really quick you could leave the controller alone at the beginning of the fight and gulp will not do anything at all. I'm pretty sure the same thing happens for crush and ripto.

Thank you very much for the tip! I tried the stupid zigzag trick that most guides told me about but when I found this guide the fight became so much easier. I wish the guides gave better tips instead of saying stuff like zigzag around the laser or fly around the laser. I wasted so much time trying to beat this tenacious green prick without taking a hit. That must of been at least a few hours like 2 or 3 hours. Once again, thank you!!

Those pterodactyls are some goddamn bullshit though, I was *so* close to beating him and they didn't drop any chickens throughout the entire fight. Kinda late here but instead of trying that hard, finish the game, get infinite fire power-up for Spyro after you collect every orb and all diamonds, and you will be able to just stand there without moving and just straight up shoot at him. Free achievement.

Best way to do get this trophy get all gems and orbs. Then ho to dragon shores to open tge door to unlock the super flame power up permanently. Next go to gulps overlook then repeatedly keep firing the superfamily at him constantly until he is defeated. It worked for me
