Richard is a good father. He's the "dumb father" archetype but done so without being an asshole to his kids or his wife. He legit does loves his kids unconditionally and supports them through thick and thin. And his relationship with Nicole is just as good. The Authority sucks, what the fuck is granny Joanna's damage for her to end up like that? Thankfully The Virus makes up for it, while not as stellar as The Painting, it is close. The Pony totally averted my expectations, I was expecting it to be about Gumball and Darwin trying their best to tolerate the pony movie to satisfy Anais but it's more like Appointment TV from SpongeBob. The Hero... Ok, I love how Richard sounds like he's replicating the, y'know, the group of people freaking out over the best roast BUT SERIOUSLY, I thought Nicole and Anais knew that he's dumb yet they act like the boys started World War III!!! This is bad.

Richard is my favorite character. He’s Homer Simpson fully realized, a sweetheart that really does try despite his laziness. I actually DISLIKE Granny JoJo. Later on you understand why she’s like this, but it doesn’t make her much better. Honestly, some of Gumball’s best jokes involve him and a keyboard. Also you might as well forget Rob. He’s never gonna be important….yeah…totally…
