Perhaps that was the original spotted owl that killed the timber industry in Oregon years ago. I wonder....... ;-) Can't get enough of '50's Gumby. I was two years old when this episode first aired. Fun times!

Rocky and Bullwinkle had fractured fairy tales and fables too. Dams were being built and environmentalists resisted back then. Gumby played off of what was in the news at the time.
