Building on its growing family of AccuStock, AccuFit, AccuTrigger outfitted Model 110 bolt actions, Savage has produced its crown jewel for hardcore hunters. All metalwork is stainless steel and coated with Coyote Brown PVD, a coating thought superior to Cerakote. At only 2-4 microns thick, PVD can be used on parts with extremely tight tolerances. A spiral fluted bolt and barrel are classy touches that go beyond the aesthetic to both shave weight and aid in heat dissipation. The True Timber Strata camouflaged stock makes use of the adjustable AccuFit system for both comb and LOP customization. Savage’s AccuTrigger is user adjustable, and the AccuStock means there’s an internal chassis supporting the action for unprecedented factory performance and downrange accuracy. Depending upon caliber, the heavy contour barrels are either 22-inch or 24-inch and topped with a threaded muzzle. Magnum calibers include a muzzle brake. The initial run of High Country rifles will include eleven calibers: .243 Win, .308 Win, 7mm-08 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, .270 Win, .280 Ackley Improved, .30-06 Spfld, 7mm Rem Mag, .300 Win Mag, and .300 WSM. Regardless of caliber, the detachable box magazine holds four rounds and carries the same suggested retail price of $1,129, though real-world prices are already under a grand.

Instead of trying to sell the rifle to us. You could maybe give and honest review and tell us about that bolt binding up so bad that you had to cut and montage the video. The backfire channel had the same issue in their savage 110 switchback and they admitted it. Your channel is nice and we get to see some sweet rifle in action but don't call it a review if you are gonna lie about the bad part of the rifle.

Bergaras are way more accurate than any savage. I have 2 bergaras a 6.5 and a 30-06 and I have nothing bad to say. The best factory trigger and it feels 3 pounds even tho I think the 30-06 is like 6/7 pounds.

I’ve been wanting bolt gun for a while... really been looking at savage 110 models as my first bolt gun and i love how this gun looks and shoots, but the only deal breaker for me with the mags is that silly proprietary mag! I guess I’ll stick with the savage 110 tactical model and that takes aics mags for now! Thanks for the review!
@rowdybroomstick1216
@rowdybroomstick1216 4 жыл бұрын
I can agree with that too. If for whatever reason the proprietary mag stops being produced or nothing aftermarket picks it up, your just done. Where as my Ruger American predator takes Magpul and it's likely other manufacturers will follow along if they haven't already.
@scotteger6271
@scotteger6271 Жыл бұрын
It’s fine if you like the AICS type mags but they also stick out from the bottom of the stock…personally I couldn’t care less that the mags are proprietary…they fit flush and that’s what I want from a hunting rifle. I’d take a hinged floor plate if they offered it in more models.

Camden Rainey I send it in next week to savage. They said they haven’t heard much about this issue but I went to Cabela’s to test two new high countries. Both had the same issue. :( They said they will fix it and turnaround time is at least a month. I hope they do because this gun is a tack driver. Unfortunately mine is a $1000+ single shot rifle currently.
@owengeorge8447
@owengeorge8447 4 жыл бұрын
Camden Rainey Mine is chambered in 308. The 175 grain Federal TLR edge ammo and the 165 grain Sierra gamekings from federal shoot sub moa. And that’s factory hunting ammo. The 165 sst superformance is right behind those two. Unfortunately as of right now, it’s a $1000 single shot rifle. Love the accuracy though.

Mine I just got will cut holes. The problems I came across is I added the Higher cheek rest before bore sighting and once you do that forget bore sighting because you won't be able to look down the barrel. The Higher cheek rest interferes with the cleaning rod also putting a slight bend and resistance on it. I use a fiberglass rod.

Very, very nice review: thorough yet succinct, though I think that you neglected to mention it's weight. No nonsense. I like that. Any chance you could review the new Savage 110 Ultralight in 6.5 PRC when it comes in? I'd be particularly interested in what you think about the difference between the 6.5 Creedmoor shown here and it's "magnumized" variant, the 6.5 PRC. In hopes that you will, I liked and subscribed. Thanks and, again, I enjoyed your review.

So would you recommend the 110 high country or the 110 predator in 6.5 CM??
@Rydeman2
@Rydeman2 4 жыл бұрын
I’m late to the game, but personally I have the predator in 6.5 CM. Both guns have similar features, but the predator has a longer barrel and the high country has stainless metal with a coating that the predator doesn’t have. My predator shoots fantastic. It’s a bit heavy, but that helps cut recoil and hold the gun steady.

@54jnl 3 жыл бұрын
Purchased one of these last year in 300 wsm. Sent it back to the factory after first the range session because primary extraction does not function and a fired round can not be extracted from the chamber. The chamber is very rough and is even gouged in one spot. Smooth cycling rounds with this action is impossible because they jam and it requires the bolt to drawn back and pushed forward again to chamber a round. In six decades of shooting and hunting I have never owned a rifle that is such a poor example of what a bolt action rifle should be.
