Great pick! I have a habit of holding slide stop with my left thumb to avoid slide lock before empty magazine. I think slide locks before empty is not only due to old magazine spring.

That was made after FM’s contract with FN ended. My understanding is that FM had to do away with the cuts at the front of the slide and go to the slab-sided slide to avoid patent infringements. An FM just like yours was the first gun I ever owned. Still have it. Still love it. Added 2 Girsans to keep it company.

I have one. Great gun! Congrats! The original mags on mine were completely unreliable. Luckily I have a BHP and modern mags: runs fine with the new mags. You definitely picked up a great gun for a low price.

A couple of new Mec-Gar 13rd magazines would probably fix that failure to feed issue right up. Probably wouldn't hurt to throw a fresh recoil spring in there as well.

Bought mine new back in 95, and I love it! Mags were shady from the get go, I do need replacement springs. Do you have any recommendations on where to get a good one?

Comments are turned off on the "hair" video GL, did you know? Something to do with the child lock. Anyhow, glad you kept the beard, it looks good so hope it's a keeper? Sad about the mullet going though, that could have been a look so hope it will soon be back!
