Canonically, the truth ending happened obviously. As for Adler and Bell’s fate, I believe they both died since they were never mentioned in bo2 (or maybe because this was unplanned lol). As for the lie ending, I don’t think Bell was “betraying” them. He just “returned”to his “former self”, serving the Motherland once more.

Adler & Bell dont die, you cant die from one bullet , and looking at the scene from slowmode they dont shot each other in the head, my guess is that they both will be wounded and the rest of the squad will find them

@@yakro3449 if that’s the case, I still think the chances of either of them surviving are very slim. Adler was standing on the edge of a cliff so he would definitely fall off and die if he got shot. As for Bell, due to the location, he would either die from having nowhere to patch up or got finished off from the rest of the crew once they’ve found him.

The campaign takes place in 81, and the multiplayer takes place in 84 and Adler is in the multiplayer, that means the canon ending (truth) Bell dies and Adler survived, people say Bell is Stone but the theory of Bell being Stone doesn’t have much evidence supporting it bes ides them having similar uniforms. It’s possible that Adler retired. Adler would be 49 in the time of bo2, but also I have heard theories of bo2 not being canon.

No the bad ending is bad, Adler had to kill Bell since he knew too much about the CIA and America, the CIA couldn't take the risk of letting him live since he could provide Intel to Perseus if he goes back to him. The good ending is still good since Bell is technically the antagonist(anti-hero). So it is understandable that Adler killed Bell.

I feel an important detail in the right/wrong debate here that I don't see really discussed yet is that, there are American Bombs, purposely upgraded and placed in allied and neutral cities some of which dont even make tactical sense like say London or Paris or for some reason what looks like Västerås. My take, Operation Greenlight by this universes America was designed to not only cripple the advancing USSR forces in eastern Europe but as a "Gun to the head" for any nation deciding to defect once the war became hot. That does not even touch on the issue these are indiscriminate weapons of mass destruction set in civilian targets.

So now is BO2 - BO4 still considered canon or not since this game is a direct sequel to BO1, but it's a soft reboot of the series; does that mean anything after this game didn't happen now ( BO2 - BO4 ). Also there's one huge thing that links this game series into the Modern warfare series now with Zakahev being introduced in this game as he's mentioned numerous times in the modern warfare reboot. It'd be interesting as hell if they manage to successfully link both series together

I think that what's happening here is: The Black Ops sequels and the original Modern Warfare series is non-canon to this new universe which picks up after Black Ops 1 and World at War. The new Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War are both in the same universe, which is some new thing separate from those two older universes

The only way we’re going to assume who lives is by looking at the multiplayer, Adler is alive and well in 84 and we see no trace of Bell, which could possibly mean Bell dies. It is possible that the multiplayer isn’t canon but I’m assuming it is because again, there should be no reason to put campaign characters into multiplayer unless it’s tied into the story. Change my mind

I feel like the TRUE ending of this is when Russia blows up on Europe because First when you choose and ending it goes like this ending 1: side with Adler you get black ops 2 and just a regular black ops series and it continues. Ending 2: side with the Russia you get modern warfare reboot That’s why wood Junior says “I will finish what he started” and Bolkov from the mission has the gas from black ops Cold War or he developed it idk can’t remember but anyways that’s my theory, Cold War is a way to bring the new mw reboot into the black ops series telling us what ending we want...not only that Imrin Zakhavea (don’t know his name spelt) got sniped by price in 89 or in the 90s
