Ports and comps work slightly different, so it does make sense. On $8k open 2011s you also have ports/popple holes and them massive comps and brakes. The ports release gas upwards. That directly reduces muzzle flip and makes the gun flatter. Almost no reduction in the push back portion of recoil. A comp releases gas upwards after it hits the wall of the expansion chamber. It pushes the gun back down, reduces recoil pushing back. Not as flat, more pushdown and push forwards after the fact. And a brake just reduces recoil pushback. So with this knowledge we can understand why open guns have all 3, and in precisely this order.

I was going to wait until the comp model came out but I got an email saying the 5" pro ported was in stock so since I'd already missed out 3 times before....sold out.... I pulled the trigger and bought one. It comes today FEDEX! Guess that means if I want the comp, I'll have to buy it after the first of the year when it's supposed to come out. ;) QUESTION: ANYBODY KNOW WHICH SAFARILAND RETENTION HOLSTER THE 5" PRO WILL FIT?? I'm guessing a 5" Staccato should work???

They aren’t “available” in stores anywhere. They sell direct to consumer. You get on the notification list on their web store and they email you when they drop. I managed to get a Tac Pro 5” in the October drop. They sold out in 3 hours. Absolutely awesome gun. Love it.

Why is it a deal breaker? Staccato has also been slowly going that path with the new C and CS. Other Larger manufacturers such as SIG, Springfield, Walther, CZ also have proprietary mags as well

Cannot say for their future releases as we've heard nothing yet but with their continued releases starting with the CS & C changing the grip size to have a slimmer profile, there's a good chance the full sizes follow suit
