No offense but I find it funny you think 43 is cold. Meanwhile, in Montana, the coldest it got this winter was -36..... That's right, 36 below zero. 43 is a day at the beach lol.

You are not the only one who could get lost in that type of store for hours on end. My best options are Barnes and Noble as well as Vintage Stock. Barnes and Noble I hope you know what it is. Vintage Stock is a chain of basically used and new items. They have a decent selection of manga\anime stuff including the posters\banners as well as other memorabilia. As for those Japanese games, I want to say they were Super Fanicom which is the Japanese version of the Super Nintendo. So how long were you in the shop? Did your pocket feel lighter but arms heavier from everything you bought in the shop or did you wait until the convention to do the majority of your shopping? Was all of this sponsored by Bandai or were other companies there? What was the record attempt about? Would you consider doing this convention again if they asked? Maybe next time they will give you a kit to build live instead of a already built one. Maybe you can take your little sister with you next time to help film and give you company.

Love Book Off in LA but they are kinda overpriced so I get my Gunpla from Anime Jungle Little Tokyo. Also lots of Gundam shokugan figures recently at Marukai/Tokyo Central supermarkets
