MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN RE:0096 - #9: RETRIBUTION (w/subtitles)

The Unicorn Gundam reaches the wreckage of Laplace, and the La+ Program's seal is broken. A speech given 96 years earlier by Ricardo Marcenas, the first prime minister of the Earth Federation government, begins playing back. Daguza realizes that the Gundam is more than just a killing machine to eradicate Zeon, and he tells Banagher that it incorporates something else that is controlled by a human heart. But then Frontal's Sinanju launches an attack, escorted by Angelo and the rest of his guards, and Daguza is killed. Responding to Banagher's anger, the Unicorn Gundam activates its NT-D system and changes into Destroy Mode, overpowering the Sinanju. However, Gilboa's machine is shot down while acting as a shield. As the Unicorn Gundam falls toward Earth, Mineva witnesses it as a descending beam of light.

其实OVA/电影版的每一集片尾曲都好好听，这首好经典，都非常配到那个剧情画面。可能是这样，这个TV再版的这一集片尾用回原曲。

Why are we supposed to feel bad for Daguza dying? He's a member of the Manhunters, the organization Tomino introduced in Gaia Gear and Hathaway's Flash to be the evilest, most one-dimensional pack of cartoon villains he could come up with. A group that kidnaps people on Earth and ejects them into space so they can kill them for sport!

Why are you watching gundams? It's been their theme since the very beginning: how can we better understand each other. Daguza is not an angel but he's not a 100℅ devil either. Under the uniform, there is a person. Your feelings are your own responsibility. The show's only doing its job. It opens your eyes and makes you ask difficult questions you have to answer on your own.

@ Except Gundam is also the franchise that says you should still fight back against evildoers regardless of how nice they are as people. It's why Bernie in 0080 is still an evil person regardless of how kind he is to Al.
