I'm not a big football fan, I don't care about following teams, scores, matches. But I do enjoy the beauty of the game. And by this standard Ødegaard is my favourite Norwegian player right now. He's not the one to score the most, win the prizes, get the world media to talk, like that other guy. But the touches, the passes, the vision, the situational awareness, the wisdom, the humility and the technique. He'll be making art the next decade or two.

Props for a great video! 👌 As a Norwegian I guess I am slightly biased. But I love to see how Martin is well on his way to establish himself on Özils level, if not surpass it, already with the season he has had. I mean, he has been delivering excellence basically each and every match except two or three where he was sub-par his own usual self. Obviously and easily top 3 of best midfielders in the PL, and same goes for the discussion of top 5 players in the league, regardless of position/role. As a brand new Arsenal-supporter over only the last couple of seasons, I hope Ødegaard sees the club as a place to remain and build a legacy under Artetas reign. I feel the club is only leaving the starting line on what might become an incredible run as a top club in Europe. Such a young, super-talented and hard-working squad, that plays incredible football. Long it seemed that they could take home the premiership title already this season. That hope now seems a little too thin. But still, Manchester City was seen as a total dominant team when the season began...that no team would be able to keep up. Arsenal proved that wrong. Next season!!! 🤞 I hope Ødegaard won't get tempted by huge pay checks from, say, a club such as Real Madrid. They didn't treat him well. Didn't give him a real chance. Sure, the club was packed with awesome midfielders, I know that. But still. And the fact that they let him go for 35 mill...? Says it all. Didn't see what a player they had. So, F 'em, Martin. Don't ever go back. If you should for some reason leave, go anywhere else. But, I'd prefer to see him stay and contribute in building Arsenal to be a CL-finalist, and maybe even take home the trophy within 3-4 years. To see him not only becoming captain (which was slightly surprising, despite him already having the role for Norways national team), but thrive in the role, is really awesome. He truly is a leader, and does not need to shout or bark commands. He genuinly still comes across, as he always has, a friendly, good-natured, down to earth guy. No arrogance or primadonna attitude what so ever. Really proud of what he has achived. I may live north of Oslo, Norway, but I'll be North London forever footballwise!

I am a Madridsta myself. To be frank he never got enough chances in Madrid, when he got it injury problem came as a hindrance. But most importantly neither Zidane nor Ancelotti trusted in his abilities. Whereas Arteta saw great potential and demanded his service in Arsenal. It's very sad we lack such kind of playmaker who can create something of out nothing. There is few players in world football who has vision and intelligence like Ødegaard. The Norwegian is a really unique player.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself but there are a handful of Arsenal players that gave me the feeling of "this could be the guy" and Odegaard is starting to give me that feeling. Fabregas, Van Persie (I know he's Judas), Sanchez .... They all left before or during becoming The Guy 😂😅 And no I'm not saying he's as good as Fabregas. He's just giving me a similar feeling.

@@benjamindadzie9657 it was just unfortunate that he didn't win anything major in his time at Arsenal, but he was literally the one who displaced Vieira (captain of invincibles) and made Wenger change his entire strategy, becoming the captain at 21. Fabregas was ahead of his time and surrounded by average players, while the other players you mentioned had the privilege to play together. Probably people are upset he left Arsenal in unfavourable circumstances while the stadium debt was being paid off, so will never be considered a legend.
