Skipping jigs was definitely the ticket. I’ve done well skipping various lighter offerings with a spinning outfit but not favorable results when skipping with bait casters. Backlash city most of the time. I assume it’s due to tension not set properly.

Its all about the angle of your lure when you release. It has to be perfectly on plane with the water or it will cause a backlash. Just takes right much practice

I have had 2 boats since I was 20. I bought my jon boat (the one in this video, when I was 15) and I bought a 2005 Bass Tracker when I was 20. We have 9.9 restricted lakes close to me that I use my jon boat in and I also use it when fishing skinny water. I always had a bigger boat for bigger lakes and bass tournaments. I sold my Tracker in 2020 and bought the current Ranger I have now
