Its actually an 18 string SG double neck Gibson guitar, 12 strings on top and 6 on the bottom neck, it is still played like a typical guitar on both necks, except the top neck has 12 strings and they are used to double whats being played like a chorus effect (like having two people sing together the same song in the same tuning) the strings are very close together so its easy to use your fingers to hold both, so its not as daunting as it sounds playing a 12 string fretboard. So basically if you look at the tuning of a typical guitar the 6 strings are as follows: EADGBE, in a 12 string guitar its EEAADDGGBBEE, all just to double the sound for a more airy chiming sound. The bottom neck is just a basic 6 string solid body electric guitar for that rock sound!.
@hellsbunniestv5843 жыл бұрын
The guitar's a double neck guitar. one 12 string and one six string guitar neck. The six string you'll know. A 12 string uses double strings for the first 3 strings on a six string guitar and the bottom three uses two strings, an octave apart. It gives a bigger, more harp like sound, mostly for rhythm guitar. Stairway to Heaven is probably the most famous song for using it.

the double necked guitar Jimmy Page said “The was there as a necessity,” told Telerama in 2014. “I thought the only way to replicate it properly, to do it any justice, was getting a that will give you 12 strings on one , six strings on the other. So I got the as a result of recording 'Stairway to Heaven. '”

this is the best version of the song but in the last 4 Knockin' On Heaven's Door for the video the singing of the public in its turn is not well appreciated this is corrected in Knockin' On Heaven's Door live was that it is the same song, in the same concert but with better quality and when axl shouts the last 4 Knockin' On Heaven's Door the public there sounds completely spectacular definitely listening to Knockin' On Heaven's Door from live era with headphones at maximum is definitely another level even higher.

From Wikipedia Schrammel guitar This guitar, also known as the Schrammel guitar, has a fretted six-string neck and a second, fretless neck with up to nine bass strings. One of the more common combinations is where one neck of a double-necked guitar is set up as for a 6 string guitar and the other neck is configured as a 4 string bass guitar.

@hellsbunniestv5843 жыл бұрын
The guitar intro they used, when playing live wasn't actually from Knocking on Heaven's Door. It's from Alice Cooper's Only Women bleed. Definitely a song that you should check out as it was banned in the 60's are it was judged to be about menstruation but it's possibly one of the first ever songs, by a man, about spousal abuse. Utterly beautiful.
