I've just seen a clip with Carrie Underwood covering 'Welcome to the Jungle' and someone mentioned in the comments how awesome she was when she covered 'Paradise City'. That's why I searched for a version and found this video. And really, she's so damn good. She blends in perfectly and has such a powerful voice. Just awesome.

I’ve seen GNR recently and Axl sounded top notch. The band put on a amazing show. Was the best show I’ve ever seen. Keeping in mind how long this band plays each night when they do tour it’s pretty fucking amazing. Slash was a fucking animal. It seemed like he never even took a break between songs. If you want to see a Dinosaurs on tour go to a more recent Metallica show. Keep in mind GNR and Metallica are my favorite bands of all time, so I’m not a hater. Tool is another amazing live performance! Yeah all these bands were better in the 90s. But there isn’t a damn person on the planet that can fill in for Axl when he is on his game.

I think Axl was surprise by how good Carrie is. You can tell that at Stagecoach, when he finally say yes to her request to join her on stage. Axl got up front of how good Carrie is. And how Carrie kept up Axl and how smoothly it went.

Carrie explained that Axl got a hold of Carrie's manager Ann. Carrie said yes, Ann could finish. It was a hectic couple of hours to rearrange Carrie's schedule, but everyone of Carrie's team made sure this happen. Well, worth the extra day.

I think G&R were surprised by how good Carrie actually is. And how easily Carrie blended with them. This performance was actually Carrie performing with G&R, which is why she didn't want to pass on it. Carrie said she juggle her schedule as she was promoting her "Denim & Rhinestones album. Her label UMG helped her. And the station where she was going to promote her album, said no problem. They didn't want to be in the way, too much backlash.

So here's a fun little note: GnR loves pyro. Carrie Underwood is very vocal about hating it, actually being kind of afraid of it. Can't help but notice that all the pyro was missing from Paradise City. Not sure if they just weren't dropping bombs at that show to begin with, or if they held back out of respect for Carrie. If the latter, then that's pretty damn cool of them considering what a--holes they were throughout the '80s, '90s, '00s and even '10s.

They did use pyro throughout the whole Not in this Lifetime tour (April 2016 to December 2018 although some say it ended in 2019) but from 2019 onwards they haven’t been using any. For me it’s kinda sad since I think it added a lot to the show.

Here is his issue: being a counter tenor, you really have to consistently do all the vocal exercises, sing daily, but most importantly take physical care of your body, in his prime, "rocket queen", nobody could sing that, not Bret Michaels, not Vince Neil, not Don Dokken, maybe Jani Lane....my point is fans recall his classic counter tenor voice, I have to believe all the dope, meth, weed, pills, and booze, plus the cancer sticks did him in.

To be honest, Axl was struggling with his voice towards the end of the evening. Carrie's mic was dialed up a little louder than Axls and filled in the higher notes. I would have preferred Axl singing on his own, but Carrie adds her own energy and doesn't take away from the songs essence.
