Duff and producers said that when Axl shows them this version they all stand there with open mouth 😮 was on another level, that's the difference between bands like Motley Crüe or other bands from 80's that don't have that piece of classical music. They play amazing rock and roll but with an extra condiment

Lots of people don’t know that Axl Rose was working on November Rain as far back as 1985/86. When GnR would travel to different hotels after their first album dropped and they gained some popularity, Axl would go into the lounges of some of the hotels, find the piano and practice and rework the song until it was just right. This was the demo Axl cut with Izzy and would eventually turn into what would come in 1991 with the Use Your Illusion I album.

Agreed, the band as in the AFD band was the best imo. They lost something when they got a new drummer & added a keyboard player. Plus they hired countless studio musicians playing various instruments on many songs after AFD. Nothing against anybody added. The band alone was just raw & enough alone. Everything after AFD was too much imo. It's like taking a good steak & throwing all kinds of stuff on it. Not needed

@@BIGLARRY100 UYI are reaaaally good wtf you saying
@BIGLARRY1002 жыл бұрын
@@marinadiamondz I do think the band has more skill from experience on UYI. They had became better musicians but that doesnt trump them being poor & desperate on AFD. UYI doesn't convey that same feel. Also they didnt have access to a live orchestra on AFD. Once they got unlimited power & resources they went off the track on several songs in UYI. The band themselves & a good studio engineer was all they ever needed. AFD had a formula. Bad ass guitars, drums, bass, & Axl starting low & ending high every song. Tht formula worked on damn near every song. UYI is all over the place. I'd say the multi-instruments helped on Dont Cry & a few others. Otherwise it & the overall experimental nature made it a lesser album. I will concede certain things like how Slash's solo comes in on Estranged shows they had actually improved as artists & gained more skill. BUT it's certainly not as good overall as AFD. It's not even close. The cheesy chants on Get In The Ring sound lame asl now. That's UYI in a nutshell. Brilliant & equally horrible moments.
@marinadiamondz2 жыл бұрын
@@BIGLARRY100 You obviously don't know much about the band. I inform you that axl is the one who wanted something different from AFD, if they wanted they could make an album like that again, the question is that, that is not what they really want. But in case it's like you say, then you have to understand that they also had a lot of pressure since the first album was perfect. In terms of success I'd say they didn't do too badly with UYI so that would leave your opinion unpopular.

I got the pleasure of seeing them live last year up at the Gorge, and honestly, it's the best concert I've been to. That day was also the first time I smoked weed, so that was fun. 10/10 would go again. Love you guys, your music has helped me through a lot. I hope you have a safe flight home, and that you enjoy your vacation. Can't wait for the next time there's a concert near me again.

Something I thought I'd point out to y'all about this version (You gotta be a good listener or musician to notice this) In the studio version of 1992, the chord progression for the verses is F - Dm - C, and then Dm - G - C, so in the studio version it would follow the lyrics: But darling when I hold you, don't you know I feel the same, nothing lasts forever and we both know hearts can change But in this version there's a little subtlety to point out here. So in the first chord progression F-Dm-C, when he sings "but when I'm holding you, don't you know I feel the same" He plays the same chords as the studio version, but when transitioning from the F major to D minor, he keeps his right hand on the F major chord, but his left hand plays the D minor bass note. What's the purpose of noticing this? When he plays the Dm in the second chord progression (Dm - G - C or just before he sings "nothing lasts forever..") it sorta has more depth and meaning since this is the actual Dm chord whereas in before, it was a F/Dm combo. Listen to these parts of the song again, and you'll notice it and hopefully appreciate it more =D

The main difference from this version to the original is that the most optimistic verse wasn't written yet in 1986, which is: "And when your fears subside And shadows still remain, oh yeah I know that you can love me When there's no one left to blame So never mind the darkness We still can find a way 'Cause nothin' lasts forever Even cold November rain"" Instead, there is this verse that shows he is still trying just to move on: "So I'll just keep on walking Again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and I know, I'll just keep on walking Again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again" Which makes the demo song sound more hopeless and sad than the original version. And even more pungent and sad and beautiful.....

Thank you for sharing this amazing piece of musical perfection ! I genuinely never thought I’d listen to a piece of music that was better than the 90s November Rain.......I was wrong.

I can't believe he wrote this in the early 80's....the jewel in the crown of Use your Illusion. I don't know whether its because I grew up with it or because its pure genius but it never ceases to touch me.

I love it and its emotional this original 1986 version is a classic masterpiece just like 1991 version and the thing I will always cherish for the rest of my life is that when this video of November rain was on mtv it was like it became a big part of my rock n roll upbringing I was 11 years old enjoying this with my elder brother , and I miss my elder brother so much because he is not physical anymore 1977 - 1997 but I know he is alive for eternity and his spirit is with everywere I go in life , what happened to my elder brother is personal that I don't like share ing with everybody in guns n roses youtube vevo and I am sorry every so I always want to dedicate this beautiful hardrock masterpiece to my elder always and forever the only that makes me smile with a bittersweet feeling is that my elder loves guns n roses and I still have the guns n roses poster and guns n roses is the greatest hardrock band of all time , I am and my elder brother and sister are guns n roses fan for life

I would listen to this while traveling for work from state to state by myself It would bring back so many memories of past relationships the good times bad who did wrong who didn't my son and why? Some ppl don't want a family in this day and age it's so sad how bad things have become. JESUS CHRIST Is real if you ask him and truly truly believe He will show you and i promise you will never be sorry!!! Great version! (If anyone has something negative to say fight that Evil spirit and just don't and scroll on)

Carlos Alberto Velázquez Zúñiga pero de donde es? No entiendo el contexto de estas grabaciones De Welcome to The jungle también publicaron una version que sonaba mas casera
@sebastianbardales46206 жыл бұрын
