Not the best live performance of the song as Axl doesn't even perform the final lyrics to the song. The best live version is Tokyo from 1992. Just be for-warned that there is a sexually explicit rap right in the middle of the song that is not part of the studio version. But the Tokyo 1992 version of the song is FIRE!

it's a WONDERFUL song. Tokyo is more polished, but this show as a whole is well known and epic. The studio version is art. *upon watching, I had forgotten how nice the meandering guitar is in the middle at this show. The bass line there is incredible

Tokyo 1992 is soooooo much better. This performance is just awful, lyrics missed out (2nd verse completely & last few lines) , not a good choice for this song at all I have to say. As for Axls voice he's ruined it by singing too high for too long in the mask area so nowadays he sounds like Mickey Mouse as a result.

G&R had about 4 or 5 good songs, on what, 3, 4 albums over a span of 30+ yrs?! They were like Nirvana, or Pantera, or even Metallica when hit radio! It had already been done over & over & over & much better, but once it hit radio, everybody acted like it was some kind of revolution! I remember hearing "Paradise City" 4 the 1st time (GREAT SONG BTW!), & u couldn't convince me it wasn't a cover song!!! I WAS IN SHOCK WHEN FOUND OUT THEY WROTE IT! That's when I knew, like w/ Pantera-the G&R of Thrash-that they just took the best parts of classic rock & put them 2gether! Nirvana was better imo, but still just OK, behind about 50 other bands! Same w/ Metallica! Happens all the time, but doesn't make them special! If y'all enjoy, is ALL THAT MATTERS!!! It's just frustrating when u listen 2 good music & get put down 4 it, then up & comers play a diluted version on the radio, & the same assholes love it & declare it special! This is 1 of the good songs, but G&R was a fad like New Kids On The Block! Both fill stadiums, yet both pale in comparison 2 the real thing! But who cares about me?!😳 Rock On, Mofos, HOWEVER U LIKE IT!!! Just an old man bitching here!🤣🤣🤣 🤘😎❤

Axl left in the middle because he couldn’t hear himself. He described it as a jet taking off sound in the building that night. Slash goes to find him, he comes back then at the end you see him throw the mic at the sound guy because it was so terrible haha somehow it was all very rock n roll still. Axl was singing so high here to try and hear himself over all other noises. A lot of singers had to do that back in the day when they were in a poor acoustic setting
