That was the "Dallas Kid", not the "Texas Kid." Read the newspaper article at 6:48.

Good eye. We also saw both names mentioned in sources, but ultimately went with "Texas Kid" because that's how Sweeten wrote about him in the included first-hand writings.

It only takes a few years of being around some of these Texas guys to be able to smell the Texas sized load of bs that strongly resembles these stories. Texas men sure can tell some whoppers 😂😂

I have seen these pistols many times, they were on display in the lobby of the Palestine Texas PD station for years. He didn't mention the muzzle of one of the .44s is damaged from him enlarging a windshield bullet hole with it to shoot the Dallas Kid through.
