Gun Review: AccuFit makes the Savage 110 Predator a go to rifle

I purchased this gun based largely on this video and a lot of other research. Mine is 223 with a Vortex 4x12 and it will be used for coyotes and bobcats in the northeast. Bought a box of cheap Serbian fmj stuff just to tweak the scope and get a feel for the gun, then once the scope was good and I had a feel for the trigger, I broke out the good Hornaday 55 Grain stuff. I had the gun a total of 20 minutes out of the box and it was breaking the hole of the previous round at 125 yards ( average preparator range in the NE) consistently and I'm no bench champion. This gun can flat out shoot and what a pleasure it is to shoot. So much to like about this gun. It's a tad heavy at just over 8 lbs but I'm not elk hunting with it ! I cant say enough about how Savage got it right here.

I just bought this gun in the Winchester .308 caliber it came with the length of pull adjustment but no height cheek adjustment or rubber inserts on the stock. It did come equipped with vortex optics and the accue trigger system.

You mentioned the magazine release is next to the trigger guard but it looks like you pressed a button at the muzzle end of the magazine. I really didn’t like the model 11/111 plastic magazine release so I hope it’s improved on this model.

I have met more people that have adverse opinions about Savage. Until they pull the trigger. Savage makes a full line; and price range. I have two Savage rifles, never, have I had an issue One; they didn't break my budget...and second, they are high quality in the $450 - $2000 (competition rifle) price range. you can drop $500 on a savage and put that extra $200 - $300 into the scope, and ammo. Personally, I would like savage to return to their original logo

should have mentioned as a liked feature the over size trigger guard. is the trigger guard metal or plastic on that model? only a single slingstud on forend? savage should have used the 10rnd mag setup like on the scout model, 20moa rail an wider forend. big downside as a varmint rifle is narrow forend, 4shot mags we would spend more time reloading than shooting. but good review nice to see a lady doing one for once. how is the reach from grip to trigger I know some women have an issue with it being to long an have the grip built up for better contact.

Selling the new Ruger American in 6.5 CM that will not Feed right. 100 Yards and touching holes. The Gun Digest that Ammo very well. That goes back to no two like guns shoot the same. I like the Sierra 1210 45 Gr. in 223. Not over 3500 FPS. Like a Grenade when it Impacts. I have Savage walking Varmint in 223 12 years old still NIB. About time to scope it.

great review and great shooting. Should shoot some 5 shot groups if you are going to review a rifle. All this video told me is that you are able to zero the scope and hit a bullseye. most guns can do that and it does not give the buyer a proper data point. Looks like an accurate gun I guess.

I’ve been looking at this rifle in 6.5 ( predator and tactical) both seem to be exactly the same 24 inch heavy barrel accu fit and trigger threaded with only differences being the magazine and bolt which I like tactical bolt release better also tactical being 200 cheaper... am I missing something?
