Imagine the future, where somehow we've endured, advanced, and survived as a species in all the ways that still allows killer music to occur... you think there's gonna be a genre dedicated to this loathsome pair of decades we've had since the calenders turned 2000 years old? Do you picture a kind of music known as milleniwave (cool of a name as that is) where we try to emulate music from these past 20 years? NO, this shit sucks and we all know it, meanwhile decades of true endurance are immortalized by music like retrowave and curated lovingly by artists that create it, and their fans.. the world needs Gunship indeed.. maybe more than we know.

I don't often venture outside of Metal music (and Rock and Grunge of course) and if I do it's usually just instrumental stuff like Classical and Jazz, the reason being other genres tend not to have the same raw emotions and relatability that Metal does it's just comforting to know I'm not the only one struggling with my mental health, anyway my point is that's one of the biggest reasons I can't get behind genres like say Pop for example it just lacks that emotional human element, so when I discovered Gunship (I love the movie The Lost Boys so had to hear Dark All Day) and subsequently this song I was very happy to hear something new I'm not accustomed too that gives that same feeling of not being alone I get from Metal.

And that's a great thing, because it's message will never get watered down, distorted or corrupted. Gunship is my favorite band because they got heart kid... and synthwave is my new favorite genre. I expect many more wonderful songs from Gunship in the future... never let your heart die Gunship!

This song (and the Dark All Day record) got me through the pandemic! I lost my job, I left my home to go back to where I was born, spent 8 months alone in a shitty flat contemplating everything and then came back to where I was before the pandemic....and this very song was on constant playback during those two awful years. Gunship are awesome.

I'm 40, and my heart isn't dead yet. I still look at the day where anything is possible. A new comic book, or LEGO, a bike ride, a neat song you just heard for the first time. More responsibilities and worry, sure, but I haven't given up, grown up. No, not yet.

My condolences to you, I lost my biological mother in 2014 and my step mother who had a huge influence in raising me to adulthood in my late teens early 20s in 2018. Still have not got over losing either of them, and I never will, but it gets better, and we do get stronger if we allow ourselves. I hope you continue to get even stronger and and this comment brings you some solace when ever you feel down and missing those you lost.

Its 2020, just after Christmas, I'm 28 and at the end of a horrible year, full of disappointment, heartbreak, and failure. Then I stumble upon Gunship and this little music video in particular, and even though I am not an 80s kid myself, I still managed to recognize every single reference and it made me relive all the great memories I have that are related to those references. Thank you Gunship and everyone involved in this video. Thank you for not letting my heart die.
