My fav band of all time. Slash and Axl together are just pure electric. It's like Axl is the Thunder and Slash is the lightening, individually they are so exciting but put them together and you got the perfect storm. For me no one will ever top them. Pure genius.

This song came out around the time my son was born. Sweetest little boy ever. Smart, had so many good friends, but nearing his 20s his brain took a detour. It happened pretty quickly and he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. He's in his 30s now and lives with me. He's unable to work or socialize. He knows how much I love this song and on some level he knows I think of him when I hear it. On a good day he'll find it on KZbin and crank it up. We don't talk about it, but its kind of like a "thinking of you" card. Life is full of surprises.

Lyrics Everywhere She's got a smile that it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything was as fresh As the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face She takes me away to that special place And if I stare too long I'd probably break down and cry Oh, oh, oh, sweet child of mine Oh, oh, oh, oh, sweet love of mine She's got eyes of the bluest skies As if they thought of rain I hate to look into those eyes And see an ounce of pain Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where, as a child, I'd hide And pray for the thunder and the rain To quietly pass me by Oh, oh, oh, sweet child of mine Oh, oh, oh, oh, sweet love of mine Oh, oh, oh, oh, sweet child of mine Ooh, yeah, yeah Ooh! Oh yes it got old. Sucks cuz it's a really good song. But it's one af the few that I just cant do anymore. I'm just here to hear the variance. Where I lived this got overplayed. I hate it when a good song gets run into the ground. Stairway, parqdice city. Some radio stations just ruined great songs for me. Now when I normally hear GnR "hits, I change the channel. I still need a break. I prefer all the other songs more now, mr brownstone, rocket queen and anything NOT played on radio or MTV.

Lyrics: She's got a smile that it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face She takes me away to that special place And if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry Whoa, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet love of mine She's got eyes of the bluest skies As if they thought of rain I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where as a child I'd hide And pray for the thunder and the rain to quietly pass me by Whoa, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Whoa whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet love of mine Whoa, yeah Whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Whoa, oh, whoa, oh Sweet love of mine Whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Ooh, yeah Ooh, sweet love of mine Where do we go? Where do we go now? Where do we go? Ooh, oh, where do we go? Where do we go now? Oh, where do we go now? Where do we go? (Sweet child) Where do we go now? Ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay Where do we go now? Ah, ah Where do we go? Oh, where do we go now? Oh, where do we go? Oh, where do we go now? Where do we go? Oh, where do we go now?

I dated a guy back in 88-89 that looked exactly like Steven Adler. Wish I had found one that looked like Axl. LOL This is probably one of my favorite songs by GNR. Ugh, to be young again in the 80's. Wish I could go back!
@c.k.23243 жыл бұрын
That's funny Nicole because Steven and Axl had a huge fight over a girl where Steven threw Axl and himself into an expensive glass coffee table. The girl was a stripper who was Stevens girlfriend , she got mad at Steven and ended up screwing Axl at the studio which he recorded the sex screams and is on the song Rocket Queen. True story hehe !!

This takes me back to being a teen getting into all kinds of mischief lol. Great memories with great friends rocking out! Life was simple and then we had to grow up. Us "older" people put G&R or another band on, crank it up and go back to that simple time for a while. If you see us rocking with a smile & twinkle in our eye- don't ask what we're thinking lol. Just start rocking and singing with us. We still got it, don't we "older people"?! I hope you smile and remember the good all the good times. It's March 2022. 😎
