Watching this movie reminded me of Sachin in early 90s, he alone used to shoulder the batting for India and the moment he was out people used to switch off TV, same here Babu alone carried the movie on his shoulders but still can't save the movie thanks to Guruji and team. Referencing Guruji's liner in Julayi- 'Logiclu evaru nammaru, andhariki magicle kavali'- this movie unfortunately neither has logic nor Trivikram's magic. Kamal Haasan once said as important it is to encourage and support good movies, it's equally important to outright reject bad ones so that we don't encourage such senseless movies in the future. The reviews of HanuMan and the initial talk has been extremely good. So let's continue to encourage and support good movies. Wishing Babu the very best for his next film with SSR.

Mahesh really needs this kind of a shocker. He's been lazy for the last 10 years, taking the audience for granted and when he decides to up the ante, he is let down big time. Good movies don't come easy. And Mahesh needs to realise that. Experimental movies may fail, but they leave a legacy. There was a time when people used to say, his movies may fail but Mahesh never fails. It's been 10yrs and he doesn't have a single movie that can be re-watched or can be suggested to the industry outsiders. People literally forgot how good an actor he was. And now, he is even being trolled for his acting capabilities. Kind of karma for getting away with poor script selection. His movies may have worked at the Box office, but in my view he is arguably the biggest underachiever as an artist in the last 10 years. I really hope this movie becomes a disaster. - A hardcore SSMB fan BTW, the last 5 min of Hanuman itself is enough to trump this Guntur Gunapam

5:55 I too thought same. Later i watched tht vehicle blast scene multiple times. Blasted vehicle is Thar 4x4 Red color and in movie Mahesh Babu uses Jeep Red color. Both vehicles being Red color, people assumed MB blasted his own car. You need to correct ur self here

As much as it is right to blame trivikram for this, I will say that you have to partially blame mahesh for choosing such abysmal scripts. Sure he gives 100% of his effort to the characters he plays but choosing a good script is also equally important. He has to take a break and do a lot of rethinking. He should ask NTR for some serious advice. Sure rajamouli will bring the best out of him but I feel bad that situation has become such that it's a rajamouli movie that is going to save his lackluster career since the last 10 years. I feel sorry and angry for mahesh as an SSMB fan.

Glad they hiked ticket rates. Ikkada people moved to Hanuman due to it being less expensivev $16 than Guntur karam which ia $22. Nenu back to back 6 to 12 book cheskunna 2 movies ki. And I am glad I booked Hanuman after Guntur karam. It saved me. Guntur karam chusi intikellunta suicide cheskuna vadni as a Mahesh Babu fan . Hanuman movie is not that great but we have to appreciate director Vision.

Flaws levu annanu, co'z the story we can relate to some other stories too and we can clearly expect what happens next in some scenes but the thing is from TFI we haven't got these type of strong script for superheroes and these guys did their heartful work❤️.

There has been insider news since an year that Trivikram originally planned for an action flick. One version is that he started shooting without complete script. Mahesh was pissed off, and asked the director to come back with a completed script only after which shooting would commence. The other script happened to be Guntur Kaaram. According to a second version, Mahesh wanted a family script and that he deliberately did not want an action flick. There were several troubles along the way. Pooja Hegde was let go. Times of India reported that Thaman was let go at one point since Mahesh was disappointed by the music director's lackluster tones and lack of time commitments only to be brought back again. Apparently, Trivikram too was let go at one point and Mahesh shadow directed the film according to TOI. All aside, there are several speculations that Mrs.Namrata took over complete control of Mahesh's script choices and projects these days. Apparently, any director has to pitch story to her before she evaluates the suitability to Mahesh's image and takes the script to Mahesh. If the case is such, Mahesh is set to lose some radical and creative projects. He already lost Sandeep Vanga's film. In the past, every creative director wanted Mahesh for their experiments - Sudha Kongara, Nagesh Kukunoor etc. While Prabhas came back strongly with Salaar and has a terrific pipeline of project K, Spirit, Salaar 2 etc, after a series of upsets(Saaho, Radhe Shyam, Adipurush), Mahesh's future seems uncertain after Rajamouli's magnus opus. Hope he takes control of his choices once more. From a long time admirer of Mahesh's works.
