This song is a wonderful creation of SahirLudhianvi. His simple yet profound lyrics steal the show in this song. Singer Talat Mehmood and music director N Datta’s task was made easier once such a wonderful poetry was written by SahirLudhianvi for the singer and music director to render.
This song is from an obscure movie called “Chaandi Ki Deewaar” (1964). Bharat Bhushan and Nutan were the lead actors in this movie. No one knows about this movie, but this is an outstanding song which I would rate as amongst the finest ghazals in Hindi Film Music.
I have borrowed the lovely music track of this ghazal from a rendering by an outstanding singer I admire, Shri Devinder Singh. It was available on KZbin and I created the Karaoke track from his version. Thanks to him in advance.
