It comes to mind: 'where there is a will, there is a way.' This simple man - part explorer, part mystic, part philosopher, lived life on his own terms. While watching the documentary, I kept asking myself how on earth did he finance his endeavours! He certainly had a good head for entrepreneurialism and raising funding. Amazing life.

I discovered the book "meetings with remarkable men " in my early teens and I was very deeply affected by it . I ran away from home in order to find my own path throwing my school books off the ferry to England, unfortunately my mother with the help of the police found me in London and brought me back to finish school. I wonder how my life would have been had she not found me. Thank you for bringing back these memories.

It is another 19 years passed. I have heard first about G.I.Gurdjeff in the early 1980th, through my private teacher R.F. Kastner. And we also saw the film Meeting with remarkable men which was organized to show during a Congress in Healing by Mr. Kastner. Now my Dear private teacher expired one year ago. and my life is real because I am. And in Gratitude for all those moments of self-remembering. Thank you Mr. Gurdjieff, Bennett & Ouspensky and Thomas de Hartmann and Wife for all your work!

Never saw Gurjieff at all. I did go to "Tai Chi Farm" in Warwick N.Y. for many years. What a wonderful adventure. A world wide yearly event opened the season, (spring) when serious Old World "Masters" from all over the world would fly in, to teach ANYTHING they chose and got very close with students. VERY OPEN. VERY RUSTIC sleeping on rotting wood floors in old stead’s with no A/C, Heat, Water, plumbing, or electricity people jammed in from all over the country. One of the GREATEST LEARNING TIMES OF MY LIFE.

I started questioning my existence at the age of 7, and as a child of a Muslim family at a young age, my first stop was the Quran. Then this wasn't enough for me. At the age of 13, I decided that this was not enough and continued to search in bitter anguish. I met Osho when I was 16, and at 18 I experienced kundalini in nature for the first time. I had an extraordinary experience that I didn't believe it, things were getting deeper and I was starting to get scared but I only felt good emotions and Love, my mind was still scared, then I needed someone like me or a servant, The only thing I was passionate about in life was my desire to search, there is no one like me around me, I wish there was one in the world. It is good to know that there are people like me, we will not turn back from our path. Now I am 19 years old and sometimes I progress and sometimes I take a break. I could not focus on university because of reading spiritual books. Now I decided not to study at university. I will work and gain financial freedom with savings at an early age and continue reading the books of masters about my only passion, the search.

Many spiritual teachers come to Realisation after a crisis. However one has to first be ready for that crisis with deep preparation. A preparation with the questions, who are we, why are we here, what is our purpose? Only then can the crisis become an opportunity to awake. Gurdjeiff shows this so beautifully so that we can understand that ordinary is truly extra ordinary. Truly blessed to have seen this documentary. Deepest gratitude for all those who put this remarkable video together. 🙏

I spent an evening with a Gurdjieff group in Phoenix many decades ago. What struck me was how the leader corrected a girl who moved her head and blocked his view while he was addressing me. He corrected her rather brusquely. They were very much into awareness to the subjugation of kindness.

As Constancewalsh wrote: hauntingly beautiful and powerful...a stirring of the soul. Watching Gurdjief's era, i feel such a loss for contemporary men. There is a lack of supportive fellowship for men who are seekers. Maybe Robert Bly is right, with no men of true wisdom to converse with, to learn from our men have become spiritually stultified. Where can they go to learn more about being a man? We have defaulted to a society of siblings.

Gurdjieff said that most people are not trully conscious during their lifetime. The solution to becoming trully or fully conscious can be found in Zen or Tibetan Dzogchen (Mahamudra), both of which are focused on precisely that. No need to look for some special guru. The solution comes from you working on the quality and intensity of your awareness, the knowing that you know. Just do that.

My grandparents were from a Greek village outside Kars Geitsa Yenice and were part of the population exchange in 1922 between Christians and Muslims, and moved to Greece, they had a terribly difficult life especially ww2 when italians invaded then the germans/bulgarians invaded, then the civil/communist war , but they were always resilient people , Pontic Greeks commemorate on May 19 353,000 Pontic Greek victims of the Young Turks genocide alongside the Armenian and Assyrian genocide. It was quite fortunate that Russia was in charge and protected the Christian populations. The Russians liberated Trapezounta for a little but then the bolsheviks made a mess of everything. In Turkey today you still have the imam by day and priest by night as they don’t trust the govt of Turkey, one never knows when this authoritarian govt will turn on its Non sunni population

All of the external search in exotic locales is what can be depicted in this visual medium. Even the spoken and written word does not fully communicate even a single central point of what Gurdjieff is saying to those who will listen -- that we are asleep. Not a metaphor, but something that can with the right kind of aim, help, and considerable effort, be established for oneself, by one's own direct experience. Naturally, since our own view is "that's crazy", or perhaps because we have "thought rigorously" about the proposition and dismissed it -- the inevitable question you have referred to never can arise. This is also referred to as "The-Terror-of-the-Situation."

However, not sure if I understand it. Could you elaborate a bit, tu ? I postulate, the same said here, and likewise in your comm, could be said about most any occult/mystical thinker/category builder from whatever school of thought : take Krishnamurti, Sankara or Kierkegaard 4 3 ... There is such a vast quantity of semi-useless, language-exerted limitation and intentional obfuscation around in the oversimplified, constantly transmogrified internet era that the perennial virtues of reach7ng the source-knowledge have VIRTUALLY become untenable i.e. written into the wind ..(that,7, btw came up unintentionally, a proof I maybe connected to the real gold standard ...(?). Suggest concentrate on leaving language behind, enter into cosmic nothingness & everythingness thru nonverbal, verbiage-free approach - such as the latest NDE research results have indicated. (And the Tibetan Book Of Dead much previously ..). The way to the Light is just a matter (or a Mater) of time. It ll take a path of its own. All answers may be much simpler than what we can deduct from within our fleshy fatigues ... All doctrines remain imperfect, all systems succumb. Causality makes way for itself by itself. Wolfgang Pauli was close. Just refrain from killing. Be humble, but be strong. Just wait & SEE 🇫🇮

@robertoponce8077 Hi Roberto - yes I will upload the other parts in due course. There is quite enough information to absorb about Gurdjieff's teaching just in part 1!

I did that "stop exercise" when I was babysitting my minister's children - while I played piano - I would suddenly stop playing and they had to freeze in whatever position they had been dancing in!
