The easiest way for shinoa squad to beat guren's squad would be to have kimizuki use his ability on guren by using yu as a diversion without guren pressing yu can use his ability without fear of his weakened state being easily exploited. Mito and his teacher can get blocked by Shinoa and Mitusuba and if kimizuki stays to help and stop them from freeing guren (protects the coffin). Yu can assault Shinya so that he loses his range advantage. The manifesation types use the curse in a persons body resulting a weakened form. The obvious counter is that they do not want to over use there manifesation power so that it affects them in the fight against a noble. This again only covers till the end of the anime and not in a situation where direct combat is shown after.

This anime has better fight scene than the manga. But the manga shows Guren's team using tactics to break Shinoa's team by having Kimizuki and Yoichi focusing on an inexisting threat while the anime just had Guren and Mito brute force their way through their defenses while Shinya provide cover fire.
