Interprétation qui rend honneur au compositeur de génie. Il en faut du talent pour faire cela. Pour avoir moi-même touché la guitare classique je sais ce que c'est de jouer toutes les notes sans faire "spotch", que tout sonne clair. Silvius Leopold Weiss usually appears as one of many when guitarists and lutenists wants press various composers into own recordings-it's legitimate to show variations. But I think Silvius Leopold Weiss is the outstanding composer for Baroque lute. He lived almost same years as Bach and Haendel and he had to stand in the shadow to contemporary resume of history in baroque music. But I feel he is a step more sublime than any other in this instrument. Asya on this recording added a spiritfull and well performed speed up- in the middle part - in elegance -not only techniqual skill. It added a value to main stream of "Fantasie" interpretations.

I totally agree! Weiss is one of the big baroque composers. Just as Chopin (almost) only composed for the piano, Weiss’ made the lute his musical universe. The beauty and creativity in the fine details is just amazing!

This is a brilliant interpretation, especially the second part of the piece. Playing it much faster than usual displays the music from a completely different perspective. I'm inspired to try this piece at such a fast tempo.
