Amazing how some religions can come to the UK, cause no problems and make life more interesting, I always try to study a bit about other cultures but the main thing is that the Sikh's have come here and like the Hippocratic oath "Do No Harm" bless this building and bless the the people that use it.

I have been here on several occasions and I originating from Gravesend feel proud of this. When I spend time there I feel like all my worldly problems are lifted and when I leave I am refreshed. It really is a truly beautiful place and the people in it are equally beautiful and kind. The Indian Sikh community have add some thing special to this town.

No to everyrhing you have asked. Guru nanak was enlightened by god and the sikh is the student of the guru. The guru may in fact be the last avatar of this world. You can research using many documentaries on youtube. sikhism is very deep, the first page of the holy book also known as the 11th Guru as the description of God. It is different from hinduism as the aim is to reconnect to the true divine source the creator of all... not to gods or idols. It in tails deep meditation, mantra and hymns. and a strict code of conduct to allow the mind body and soul to become balanced allowing the merging of the soul to God. It is not God in the western scence of a man and beard. It is god in the scene of the universal energy which is absolute peace above happiness and anger. sikhism is so deep as there were 10 gurus and 1 eternal guru the book. Each Guru contributed to sikhism however each of the masters contains the same light which was from god to Guru Nanak. It is written sikhism was born as there was chaos in the world and to bring balance and to rip the veil of illusion the master Guru nanak came to save the world. anyone can become a sikh and everyone is equal. There is free food alway in the temple for all forver and all are welcome regardless of cast creed sexuality. only when enlightemnt occurs can the cycle of life and death be broken. The gurus prescribed a warrior Saint life style, there is much more information . much to study much to learn good luck
