Waheguru is the God Sikhs worship and their scholars tell us who Waheguru is. Bhai Gurdaas ji (the one who penned down guru granth Sāhib) in his book, Var, says: In Satya-yuga to attain the Lord, meditation on the Vāsudeva form is advocated. The *letter v of vāheguru reminds of Viṣṇu.* In Dvāpara-yuga Hari Kṛṣṇa Himself appeared; *the letter h of vāheguru reminds of Hari.* In Treta-yuga Rāma appeared; the *letter r of vāheguru reminds of Rama.* In Kali-yuga came Nānak as a guru to make others chant Govinda. The *letter g of vāheguru reminds of Govinda.* Thus the four yugas have concluded this. The four letters combined together to form this mantra (vāheguru). By chanting this mantra the living entity goes back from where he has come. - [section 1 of Var, pavdi 49] In short, the meaning is:- *Va: Vāsudeva* *Hae: Hari Kṛṣṇa* *Gu: Govinda* *Ru: Rāma*

The soul of Guru Nanak ji was King Ambareesh in Satya Yuga, King Janak in Treta Yuga (father-in-law of Sita Ji) and Guru Nanak in Kali Yuga. Because he had donated half of his devotional capital to 120 million souls who were suffering from hell while they were going to heaven (in treta Yuga). Therefore, after enjoying heaven, he was born in an ordinary family in Kali Yuga.

Who told you about this ? This is not true. Guru Gobind Singh has himself mentioned in Sarbloh Granth that guru nanak did jaap for 4 kalpas and created the waheguru mantar by suddhi of each word for 1 kalpa. In Sikhism guru nanak is considered divine himself. So don't comment such things without knowing anything.

FYI king janak is considered an enlightened king. His guru was ashtavakra as per Yog vashisht. Enlightened beings rarely take birth again even that for specific purposes

What I said is true, they were their previous births, as it is said in Gita that these human beings were there in the past and will be in the future, it is not that it is only today. We were not born for the first time in this world. All of us have had lakhs & crores of births here. First of all Waheguru is not a mantra, it is a Title, which is mistakenly considered as a mantra by Sikhs . which is given only to the Complete Guru (Purna Guru) who has the path of complete salvation. And secondly, Until this soul is not Enlightened about the Supreme God, he has to take birth again and again in this world. It is clearly said in the Gita that the souls who have gone to Brahmloka also come back to this world. which is top most place in this Universe & Only Enlightened (Gyani purush) people go to Brahmloka. Still, even after living in brahmlok for millions/crores of years(as long as 1 kalp) , one has to return to this dead world. Because even by doing Brahm Sadhana no one can attain complete salvation. If we want complete salvation we have to find "PurnaGuru" , who knows about Purna Brahm (Supreme God) & complete way of worship.

Om. We are also celebrating Dev Diwali ( Diwali of Gods), when Lord Shiva killed Tripuras (three cities of Asura). There is grand description about it in scriptures. The earth became chariot, Sun and Moon the wheels, Lord Brahma the charioteer, Mount Meru the bow, King of serpents, Vasuki the the bow string and Lord Vishnu himself became the arrow. Riding on that divine majestic chariot Lord Shiva brought down three mighty cities of Demons in one strike.( spiritually symbolised with Shiva destroying three gunas of Prakriti 0r 3 modes of ignorance for ultimate liberation). Om.
